That\u2019s despite the company\u2019s global workforce growing from 125,665 employees in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/Archives\/edgar\/data\/1318605\/000162828025003063\/tsla-20241231.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">2024<\/a> to 134,785 employees in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/Archives\/edgar\/data\/1318605\/000162828026003952\/tsla-20251231.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">2025<\/a>, according to filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It\u2019s not clear which teams were most affected by Tesla scaling back its workforce at the plant. But the company has become one of the largest employers in the Austin area since it opened the factory in 2022. CEO Elon Musk also relocated Tesla\u2019s headquarters to the factory in 2021 before it opened.
