\t\t<\/p>\n An American journalist has been abducted in Iraq.<\/p>\n Shelly Kittleson<\/strong> was reporting from Baghdad for publications like BBC and Politico and on Tuesday (March 31), Iraq\u2019s Interior Ministry said a \u201cforeign journalist was abducted by \u2018unknown people.\u2019\u201d <\/p>\n A United Arab Emirates publication called The National<\/em><\/a> confirmed with sources that Kittleson<\/strong> was taken. <\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n The National<\/em>, a publication based in the United Arab Emirates which covers the Middle East, confirmed with sources that Kittleson<\/strong> was the journalist taken.<\/p>\n According to TMZ<\/a>, she was in the central part of the city, close to the Palestine Hotel on Al-Saadoun Street. <\/p>\n Another publication, Al-Arabiya<\/a> shared footage allegedly of her kidnapping. The video seems to show a car pulling up to speak to someone and then two men grab that person and pull them into a car before it veers away.<\/p>\n On Monday, Kittleson<\/strong> reshared a post on X<\/a> about Spain closing its airspace to U.S. planes involved in the attack on Iran.<\/p>\n The Iraqi government has said they are conducting a search for her and has reportedly arrested a suspect.<\/p>\n Kittleson<\/strong> was also a contributor for Al-Monitor<\/a> and they have released the following statement.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are deeply alarmed by the kidnapping of Al-Monitor contributor Shelly Kittleson<\/strong> in Iraq on Tuesday.
