She later married <strong>Paul<\/strong> in 1983 and they were together for more than 40 years until she passed away. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Paul<\/strong> took to his Facebook account on Monday (March 30) to reflect on the loss of his wife by sharing a page from his father\u2019s journal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNOVEMBER 23, 1978. My father kept a meticulous and finely printed daily journal.  On Thanksgiving 1978 he wrote simply \u2018Joan died 12:20 am.\u2019 Nothing more. Joan was his wife and my mother. He was made of stern stuff. I\u2019ve looked at this entry over the years and wondered how I\u2019d feel in his place.
