Marking a final on-screen return following his death aged 53 earlier this year, the actor had completed filming his scenes for the HBO drama before his death on 19 February, nearly a year after publicly revealing his diagnosis of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or ALS. <\/p>\n
The new trailer, released on Monday (30.03.26), offers a brief glimpse of Eric reprising his role as Cal Jacobs, the father of Nate Jacobs, played by Jacob Elordi. <\/p>\n
In the scene, Eric\u2019s character is reunited with Jules, portrayed by Hunter Schafer, a character with whom he shared a raunchy storyline in the first season. <\/p>\n
The exchange features Jules asking: \u201cRemember me?\u201d to which Cal replies: \u201cHow could I forget?\u201d<\/p>\n
\nIn a statement to People in April 2025, Eric said: \u201cI feel fortunate that I am able to continue working and am looking forward to returning to the set of Euphoria next week.\u201d <\/p>\n
\nThe publication reported he resumed filming just four days after sharing the diagnosis publicly.<\/p>\n
\nEric\u2019s family confirmed his death in a statement to People. <\/p>\n
\nThey said: \u201cWith heavy hearts, we share that Eric Dane passed on Thursday afternoon following a courageous battle with ALS. He spent his final days surrounded by dear friends, his devoted wife, and his two beautiful daughters, Billie and Georgia, who were the center of his world.\u201d <\/p>\n
\nThey added: \u201cThroughout his journey with ALS, Eric became a passionate advocate for awareness and research, determined to make a difference for others facing the same fight. He will be deeply missed, and lovingly remembered always. Eric adored his fans and is forever grateful for the outpouring of love and support he\u2019s received. The family has asked for privacy as they navigate this impossible time.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nSharon Stone, who joins the cast of the new season of Euphoria as a guest star, spoke about Eric\u2019s connection to the role. She told Entertainment Tonight: \u201cEric and I have been friends for a long time. A long time. And I actually was like his support staff when he was trying to get the job on Euphoria. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cSo he would come over to my house and bring me gluten-free cookies, and we\u2019d sit and discuss it because he really wanted that job.\u201d <\/p>\n
\nShe added: \u201cIt means the world to me that he got that job in time.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThe new season will also see returning cast members including Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Alexa Demie, Maude Apatow, Chloe Cherry, Colman Domingo and Nika King. <\/p>\n
\nAccording to the official logline, the series follows \u201ca group of childhood friends wrestle with the virtue of faith, the possibility of redemption, and the problem of evil\u201d.<\/p>\n
\nEuphoria season three will premiere on 12 April on HBO and HBO Max.<\/p>\n
