And we never felt frightened.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe hardest thing in the world is to be a good parent, I think. And I never thought I would be a parent.<\/p>\n<p>\n\u201cBut I love the challenge of it. It gives me so much joy and pleasure to be with those boys and David. It\u2019s just phenomenal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\nBeing a parent has also allowed Elton to become a part of his local community for the first time.<\/p>\n<p>\nHe said: \u201cI\u2019ve lived here since 1975 and I didn\u2019t know anybody in Old Windsor until I had Zachary. How crazy is that?<\/p>\n<p>\n\u201cThey\u2019re always outside, they have their own little community with their friends.<\/p>\n<p>\n\u201cI\u2019m so glad about that. I never used to be part of the community until I had the kids. And that feels good too.<\/p>\n<p>\n\u201cIt\u2019s just part and parcel of how life gives you the most wonderful things when you\u2019re not looking for them. It\u2019s just bountiful, what\u2019s happened to me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\nAnd the \u2018Tiny Dancer\u2019 singer has \u201cnever been happier\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\nHe said: \u201cI\u2019ve never been happier. Who can say that? And after all I\u2019ve been through \u2013 and I\u2019ve been through a lot. I mean, Jesus Christ!
