Scott Mills<\/a> is no longer contracted to work with the BBC.\u201d<\/p>\nThe broadcaster stated that he had been dismissed following allegations over his personal conduct but did not specify any details.<\/p>\n
Scott was reportedly taken off air last Tuesday (24.03.26) after an allegation was made and staff are said to be “shell-shocked” by his departure.<\/p>\n
\nAccording to the Mirror, Director of Music Lorna Clarke broke the news in an email.<\/p>\n
\nThey reported she said: “I wanted to personally let you know that Scott Mills has left the Breakfast show, and the BBC. I know that this news will be sudden and unexpected and therefore must come as a shock. Not least as so many of us have worked with Scott over a great many years, across a broad range of our programmes on R1, 5Live, R2 and TV. I felt it was important to share this news with you at the earliest opportunity.<\/p>\n
\n“Of course, it will also come as a shock to our audience and loyal breakfast show listeners too. I will update everyone with more information on plans for the show when I\u2019m able to. While I appreciate many of you will have questions, I hope you can understand that I am not going to be saying anything further now.”<\/p>\n
\nScott previously declared it would be a “huge honour” to anchor the Radio 2 Breakfast Show, following in the footsteps of broadcasting greats including Zoe, Chris Evans, and Sir Terry Wogan.<\/p>\n
\nHe said on his afternoon show at the time: “Safe to say we\u2019re going to miss [Zoe] massively in a morning, but she 100 percent deserves a lie-in. <\/p>\n
\n“And, as you\u2019ll have heard in the news, it\u2019s been announced that I am taking over the ‘Breakfast Show’. What? This is a huge honour, to walk in the footsteps of Sir Terry, Chris Evans and Zoe. <\/p>\n
\n“And when I started doing shows in my bedroom just for my mum when I was eight. Or joined hospital radio at 12. Or got my first proper radio show at the age of 16, you just never think that it would ever turn out like this. I\u2019m thrilled. I\u2019m overwhelmed by all the love. I still can\u2019t quite believe it.”<\/p>\n
