Prime Video unveiled the first look at Turner, 29, dressed as the video game heroine for her new Tomb Raider series on Thursday, January 15. The photo shows the actress dressed in one of Lara\u2019s famous looks: a green tank top, black shorts, red sunglasses, a backpack [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
\u201cI am thrilled beyond measure, to be playing Lara Croft,\u201d Turner added. \u201cShe\u2019s such an iconic character, who means so much to so many \u2013 and I am giving everything I\u2019ve got. They\u2019re massive shoes to fill, following in the steps of Angelina [Jolie]<\/strong> and Alicia [Vikander]<\/strong> with their powerhouse performances, but with Phoebe at the helm, we (and Lara) are all in very safe hands. I can\u2019t wait for you all to see what we have cooking.\u201d<\/p>\nTomb Raider<\/em> began filming in January and will also star Sigourney Weaver<\/strong>, Jason Isaacs<\/strong> and Martin Bobb-Semple<\/strong>.<\/p>\nIn a January appearance on SiriusXM\u2019s The Julia Cunningham Show<\/em>, Turner opened up about how she prepared for the shoot.<\/p>\n\u201cWe\u2019ve been doing eight hours a day, five days a week, since February last year of training, so it\u2019s been a lot,\u201d the actress said.<\/p>\n
