The 44-year-old popstar has been making positive changes since she was arrested earlier this month in Ventura County, California, on suspicion of driving under the influence of a combination of alcohol and drugs.<\/p>\n
According to Us Weekly, Britney has been sober since her arrest.<\/p>\n
It was claimed she was \u201cdriving erratically\u201d before an hour\u2011long police pursuit that ended with the singer being taken into custody on suspicion of DUI. <\/p>\n
A 911 caller reportedly described her as \u201call over the road,\u201d prompting officers to track her vehicle until she eventually stopped. <\/p>\n
\nPolice sources said Britney appeared \u201cdisoriented\u201d when approached, and she was later booked before being released.<\/p>\n
\nFollowing the incident her team insisted the arrest was a wake-up call that would lead to \u201clong overdue change\u201d in her life.<\/p>\n
\nHer rep told Us Weekly at the time: \u201cThis was an unfortunate incident that is completely inexcusable. Britney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law, and hopefully this can be the first step in long overdue change that needs to occur in Britney\u2019s life. Hopefully, she can get the help and support she needs during this difficult time.<\/p>\n
\n“Her boys are going to be spending time with her. Her loved ones are going to come up with an overdue needed plan to set her up for success for wellbeing.”<\/p>\n
\nSpears shares sons Preston, 20, and Jayden, 19, with her ex-husband, Kevin Federline.<\/p>\n
\nBritney is set to appear in court on May 4 following her arrest.<\/p>\n
\nThe DUI incident has sparked renewed concern among fans, especially as Britney – who has struggled with her mental health and was freed from the constraints of a lengthy conservatorship in 2021 – has been largely out of the public eye in recent months.<\/p>\n
\nHer ex-husband Sam Asghari \u2013 who she started dating in 2016, got married to in June 2022 and split 13 months later before getting divorced the following year – has called for privacy for the pop star.<\/p>\n
\nHe told Fox News: “When it comes to people making mistakes, I understand that. I think that everyone deserves privacy. And I hope the press has learned from the past, that they give her the privacy that she needs.”<\/p>\n
