\t\t<\/p>\n One of the Love Story<\/em><\/strong> producers are reacting to Daryl Hannah<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s criticism of the series.<\/p>\n The FX and Hulu follows the love story between JFK Jr.<\/strong> and his wife Carolyn Bessette<\/strong> and what led to their untimely deaths in the 90s. Daryl<\/strong>, 65, is featured as a character played by Dree Hemingway<\/strong><\/a> in the first few episodes and portrayed in a villainous arc, acting as a distraction from his life and family and eventually his relationship with Carolyn<\/strong>. <\/p>\n Daryl<\/strong> recently wrote a scathing essay about the show<\/a>, slamming the way she was portrayed.<\/p>\n In a post-finale interview, producer Brad Simpson<\/strong> addressed Daryl<\/strong>\u2018s complaints.<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span>\u201cFrom the beginning, this was going to be John and Carolyn\u2019s story, and we put a lot of research and rigor into all the people and moments in the series that ultimately shaped their relationship,\u201d Simpson <\/strong>told Variety<\/a><\/em>. \u201cWe read a lot of biographies and journalistic accounts. Anytime you\u2019re dealing with characters that are based on real people, there are big emotions and sensibilities, I think it\u2019s tough for anybody to see themselves represented.\u201d <\/p>\n He went on to say that they led with \u201cempathy and love\u201d in their depictions of Daryl<\/strong> and other figures in the Kennedy world.<\/p>\n \u201cWe love all our characters,\u201d Simpson<\/strong> said. \u201cWe know this is a real tragedy that affected real people.
