Steven continued: \u201cOn Minority Report and on War of the Worlds, Tom would insist on getting there when I got there so we would map out the whole day\u2026 which was really helpful for me.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nTom has also spoken about his approach to developing skills for his roles. <\/p>\n
\nIn an interview with PEOPLE in May 2025, Tom said: \u201cI will learn a skill, and I know eventually I\u2019m going to use it in a movie.\u201d He added he was \u201cconstantly training\u201d \u2013\u00a0from the piano to dancing, parachuting and flying airplanes or helicopters.<\/p>\n

\nChristopher described Tom\u2019s work on action sequences by saying: \u201cAnytime you see Tom in the plane, he\u2019s at the controls.\u201d He added: \u201cHe\u2019s basically a one-man film crew: operating the camera, acting and flying.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nJoseph also discussed Tom\u2019s involvement in training co-stars on Top Gun: Maverick. <\/p>\n
\nHe said: \u201cWe put them through a training course that Tom actually designed himself.\u201d <\/p>\n
\nJoseph added: \u201cHe\u2019s a licensed aerobatic pilot and he was thrown into the deep end when he did the first Top Gun without any training. So he knew that they would need to kind of work up to that level.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nGlen also reflected on working with Tom by saying: \u201cTom\u2019s as great as people think he is. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cHe\u2019s as nice, he\u2019s as hardworking, he\u2019s as generous, he\u2019s as available. He\u2019s the man.\u201d<\/p>\n
