Catherine Harding<\/strong><\/a> is directly sharing her side of the story in the Chappell Roan<\/strong><\/a> security situation. <\/p>\n The English singer is married to Brazilian soccer star Jorginho Frello <\/strong>and was in Sao Paulo this weekend for Lollapalooza Brazil<\/em> with her daughter. <\/p>\n However, things took a sour turn when they were at breakfast at their hotel when her daughter thought she saw Chappell<\/strong> and walked by the singer\u2019s table to confirm if it was her. But, a security guard then came over and was very rude towards her after, as previously told by Jorginho<\/strong><\/a>, which has gone super viral. <\/p>\n Chappell<\/strong> shared her side of the story <\/a>on Sunday (March 22), the day after her performance, and Catherine<\/strong> is now speaking out with her side in a new video message. <\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI wanted to say something because I\u2019m getting so many messages about this now and honestly, I didn\u2019t realize it would get this crazy,\u201d Catherine<\/strong> started out in an Instagram video. \u201cA lot of people ask me like what actually happened and everything else, and I know that Chappell<\/strong> has responded saying that it wasn\u2019t, that it wasn\u2019t her security and that she didn\u2019t do it. So, 100% this security guard was not a security guard of the hotel that\u2019s what I can say. He looks after artists so I don\u2019t know if it was her personal security guard but he was with her. So, that is all I know. Did she send him to do it? Again, I don\u2019t know.\u201d <\/p>\n \u201cLook, I would like to hope not but at the same time I think that you have a responsibility when you are a celebrity to make sure, I guess, that the people that work for you and that act on your behalf are acting on your behalf. So would he do that if he didn\u2019t have her authority to do so? I don\u2019t know,\u201d she continued. \u201cIf he does, then obviously that\u2019s a big problem because then he\u2019s representing her in a way that she doesn\u2019t want to be represented. I think that\u2019s really important for her to notice and realize that\u2019s not correct.\u201d<\/p>\n Catherine<\/strong> then went on to explain what happened to lead to all of this. <\/p>\n \u201cLiterally, we were staying in the same hotel, we were at breakfast and we noticed a girl passed with long red hair, very curly, and I said to my daughter, \u2018Oh, do you think that\u2019s Chappell Roan<\/strong>?\u2019 And she looked and she said, \u2018Oh my god, mum, do you think it\u2019s her?\u2019 And so she said, \u2018I\u2019m gonna go have a look outside,\u2019 and she was sat just outside in the garden area, which we were also free to go into. The door was open, and so I went back to the table to see me and my daughter walked through the door.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cShe didn\u2019t have her phone, she didn\u2019t try to take a picture, she didn\u2019t approach her. She literally didn\u2019t do anything. She just looked at her and smiled and she came back and she actually said to me, \u2018Mum, I don\u2019t know if it\u2019s her because obviously she looks like, you know, with her costumes and everything, she looks a little bit different. So, my daughter said, \u2018Oh my gosh, I\u2019m not sure if it was her. I think it was her mum. It really, really looks like her, but I don\u2019t know. Maybe it\u2019s her sister,\u2019 she said, \u2018Maybe it\u2019s her sister.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cAnd I said, \u2018Oh, I don\u2019t know, darling.\u2019 And that was it. We continued our breakfast. \u201cI did try and explain to him the situation, that she\u2019s a child and she was just very excited to see an artist and singer that she admires and can he not understand that\u2019s all she was doing, and I explained to him also that my husband is also very well known and that we\u2019re very used to being around people that are well known, and she would never cross someone\u2019s boundaries or overstep a mark,\u201d Catherine<\/strong> continued. \u201cShe very much knows the limits not to ever, you know, yeah be rude or make anyone feel\u2026 She understands very well, and I tried to explain this to him and he just kept saying, \u2018Well, if that\u2019s the case then you should know better, you should know how it is, you should know how it is, so you should teach her to be better, you shouldn\u2019t allow her to be like this.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cAnd I was shocked, and I did actually say to him at the time, I said, \u2018Well, if this is the case that she doesn\u2019t even want people to look at her, she is very welcome to eat breakfast in her room, because this here is a public area and I am a paying guest as well as her.\u2019 So if I want to walk past someone\u2019s table and look at them, I have every right to do so. I am not approaching her. I\u2019m not doing anything to make her feel intimidated or nothing like this is an 11 year old child.\u201d <\/p>\n \u201cThis is the last thing I\u2019m gonna say about this now, because it\u2019s getting a bit crazy, Catherine<\/strong> explained that they flew all the way to Sao Paulo to see Chappell<\/strong> as a birthday present for her daughter, and they didn\u2019t even go to the performance after what happened. <\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s how it is. We\u2019ll say no more on it. That\u2019s it. I hope that maybe if it wasn\u2019t her, that she learns to not allow the people that work for her to treat people like this,\u201d Catherine<\/strong> concluded. <\/p>\n If you missed it, the mayor of Rio de Janeiro reacted to the situation <\/a>and said Chappell<\/strong> will not be welcomed to perform at Todo Mundo no Rio for as long as he\u2019s in office.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
And from that, then came the security guard, who as I said, as my husband said, had a very aggressive tone and I feel like was if she did not send [him], I mean even if she did send him or she didn\u2019t send him, I don\u2019t know. For me, I feel like it really overstepped a boundary because he is quite intimidating, he is very large. So, for him to come over to a table with just a woman and her daughter eating breakfast, to kind of like berate and scold us and say that he was going to complain and tell me that I should be teaching my daughter to be better and that she\u2019s badly educated and we should respect people\u2019s privacy and we should not harass people and all of these other things.\u201d<\/p>\n
but lots of people were sending me messages like is this true is this true is this true and then lots of messages now about obviously um Chappell<\/strong>\u2018s message that she\u2019s put out. So, I hope that she did not know and I hope that she did not send her security over to do this. I really think that she\u2019s a very, very, very talented artist. We liked her a lot.\u201d <\/p>\n
