\nStanley asked the police: \u201cCan you guys please just do me a favour ’cause you loved Bye Bye Bye or Sexyback?\u201d and is heard asking if she can give the singer his phone.<\/p>\n
\nLater, she was given permission to drive Justin\u2019s car.<\/p>\n
\nJustin\u2019s team was previously granted a temporary restraining order to stop the footage being released following Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests.<\/p>\n
\nSag Harbor Village Police filed to \u201clift the TRO [temporary restraining order] and allow [police] to release\u201d the footage, with the agreement stating that police \u201cmay release footage, as redacted\u201d related to the arrest.<\/p>\n
\nTimberlake was stopped by cops after allegedly running a stop sign and swerving between lanes and the paperwork filed in Sag Harbor claimed the footage in question shows the singer “in an acutely vulnerable state during a roadside encounter with law enforcement” adding the film captured “intimate details” of Timberlake\u2019s “physical appearance, demeanour, speech, and conduct”. <\/p>\n
\nNew York Post column PageSix reported Timberlake’s lawyer Michael Del Piano claimed releasing the footage would cause “severe and irreparable harm” to the singer’s “personal and professional reputation” and subject him to “public ridicule and harassment”. <\/p>\n
\nThe attorney added: “[There is] no legitimate public interest in understanding the operations of government … disclosure of this footage would constitute an unwarranted invasion [of Timberlake’s privacy].” <\/p>\n
\nAfter entering his guilty pleas, Timberlake was ordered to perform 25 to 40 hours of community service and his New York driving licence was suspended for 90 days. He was also required to pay a $500 fine and a $260 surcharge. <\/p>\n
\nThe singer claimed to have only consumed one alcoholic drink prior to his arrest and after the case came to an end, Timberlake urged others to learn from his mistakes. <\/p>\n
\nSpeaking to the press outside the New York court, the pop star said: “What I\u2019d like to say to everyone watching and listening, even if you\u2019ve had one drink, don\u2019t get behind the wheel of a car. <\/p>\n
\n“There are so many alternatives. Call a friend, take an Uber, there are many travel apps, take a taxi. This is a mistake that I made, but I am hoping that whoever is watching and listening right now can learn from this mistake.”<\/p>\n
