Doja Cat engages with fans on social media<\/p>\n
The 30-year-old rap star is well-known for reacting to online criticism, and Doja admits that she feels compelled to respond whenever she feels “threatened”.<\/p>\n
The Paint the Town Red hitmaker told Vogue magazine: “When I feel that I\u2019m threatened, even though it may not be a threat at all, it rhymes with: You are failing.<\/p>\n
“Look, I never do costume changes, but I feel like I have to defend my creative choices, and then I give those people power even though they could be anybody\u2014they could have Cheeto dust on their fingers and have no job.”<\/p>\n
Despite this, Doja hopes she stops engaging in online spats by the time she reaches 50.<\/p>\n
\nShe said: “In life, you grow. We\u2019ll see where I am when I\u2019m 50, if I\u2019m still on Twitter doing stuff like that, who knows? Hopefully not.”<\/p>\n
\nMeanwhile, Jack Harlow previously hailed Doja as a “very gifted individual”.<\/p>\n
\nThe rap star collaborated with Doja on the single Just Us, and Jack believes she’s “super important and super talented”.<\/p>\n
\nSpeaking to Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, Jack explained: “Doja and I both emerged at a similar time into music culture, I suppose, and so that was right around the pandemic. <\/p>\n
\n“We actually have a notorious IG live together. We kind of became cool on the internet and then when the world opened back up, we would cross paths. But I\u2019ve been wanting to do a song with Doja for four or five years. <\/p>\n
\n“This is an important moment to me because I think she\u2019s super important and super talented, just a very gifted individual.”<\/p>\n
\nJack revealed that Doja didn’t have any hesitations about working with him.<\/p>\n
\nHe shared: “We were talking one day, just was seeing what\u2019s up and she brought up a song she had and I was like, ‘It\u2019s funny because I have a song and I\u2019d love you to hear it.’ I shot it over to her and she was like, ‘What?’ She immediately loved it and knocked it out. <\/p>\n
\n“I think it\u2019s just timing, about catching people at the right time, making them feel inspired. I think you could tell by her verse and how long it is and how many lines there are.”<\/p>\n
