If I\u2019ve done something, I\u2019ll put my hand up to it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Blake recalled meeting Amy at a pub in London in 2001, and he remembered believing that she was a \u201cbeautiful woman.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<p>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Amy Winehouse &amp; Me: Blake Fielder Finally Tells His Story\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/2v5uaXsbe2c?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>While they descended into more serious substance abuse together, Blake maintains that he did not lead Amy down that path.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAmy herself had agency. And that is in no way at all disrespecting her by saying that, but Amy did what she wanted to do,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd even though the drinking had started to hurt her, she carried on\u2026 She\u2019s actually a very strong woman.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>To the end, he says, he regarded Amy as his best friend.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese are memories which are hard for me to revisit. It\u2019s hard for me, \u2018cause she\u2019s not here still. That was my best mate, and we were happy. And the drugs was a side of it, eventually,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n<p>\u201c[But] our love had nothing to do with addiction. And addiction had nothing to do with our love. That\u2019s where it went. I\u2019ve never tried to put that on anyone. Why would I?\u201d he said. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI never understood, do these people think that I forced Amy to do drugs? That\u2019s just not what happened\u2026 I\u2019m not shirking responsibility, but this idea of daily facilitating, no. I wasn\u2019t the dealer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Winehouse and Fielder-Civil divorced in 2009, but they remained close until her death, speaking regularly during his incarceration.<\/p>\n<p>Blake was in jail when Amy passed away from alcohol poisoning, but he insists that he \u201cwould\u2019ve never in a million years have let her just sit and get drunk all day.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He was unable to attend her funeral due to his imprisonment.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehollywoodgossip.com\/2026\/03\/amy-winehouses-ex-husband-blake-fielder-civil-breaks-silence-i-didnt-kill-her\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Source link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Reading Time: 3 minutes It\u2019s been 15 years since Amy Winehouse was found dead in her London apartment.
