Sean Penn<\/strong><\/a> was given an honorary Academy Award after skipping out on the 2026 Oscars<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cSean Penn opted for the trip to \ud83c\uddfa\ud83c\udde6 vs. Oscar ceremony at Dolby Theater where he was awarded his 3rd \ud83c\udfc6,\u201d Ukrainian Railways CEO Oleksandr Pertsovskyi<\/strong> wrote via X on Tuesday, March 17. \u201cWe couldn\u2019t leave our great friend and loyal Ukrainian Raiwlays [sic] passenger without an award. So, I have presented Sean with our IronOscar on behalf of all of us!\u201d<\/p>\n The award given to Penn, 65, was forged from metal taken from a destroyed railcar.<\/p>\n \u201cYou\u2019re missing the Oscars. Plus, you gave the last one to the president. So we made this one,\u201d Pertsovskyi said in a video shared via X. (In November 2022, Penn gave one of his Oscars to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy<\/strong>.)<\/p>\n \u201cYou said the metals survived, so we put some words here that are very special to us,\u201d Pertsovskyi continued while presenting Penn with the gift. \u201cIt\u2019s not golden, but it\u2019s very real, and it\u2019s from the bottom of our hearts.
