Teyana Taylor has received a public message from the Academy<\/p>\n
\nThe One Battle After Another star – who was nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the Oscars on Sunday (15.03.26) – was furious after a member of Security Industry Specialists appeared to stop her getting back on stage after the movie won Best Picture at the end of the ceremony.<\/p>\n
\nIn a statement, the Academy has said: “We were extremely upset to learn about the experience endured by Teyana Taylor at the end of the Oscars ceremony last night…<\/p>\n
\n\u201cWe have worked with Teyana over the last several months during awards season, and she has been nothing short of remarkable, supportive, kind, and all about community. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cThough the incident was with our outside security firm SIS, the experience of every single guest is our responsibility. We have made it clear to them that this behaviour is not acceptable.<\/p>\n
\n“We want to thank Teyana for showing remarkable grace, and we are taking the appropriate measures to ensure this does not happen again.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nMeanwhile, SIS has also issued its own statement and vowed to make sure the incident is not repeated.<\/p>\n
\nThey told TMZ: \u201cThis is not the standard of professionalism we expect from our team, and we have addressed the matter internally to help ensure situations like this do not happen again.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nTeyana, 35, was seen in footage blasting a security guard for putting his hands on her as she tried to move through the crowd backstage after being up with her co-stars to accept the Best Picture prize.<\/p>\n
\nIn the video, she can be seen shouting: “You’re a man putting his hands on a female… You’re very rude. You’re very rude. You’re very rude.”<\/p>\n
\nTeyana explained to a concerned onlooker: “He put his hands on a female.”<\/p>\n
\nShe claimed: “He literally shoved me. He was damn near shoving her.”<\/p>\n
\nIn the clip, Teyana told people around her: “Do not touch me, do not shove me, do not push me.”<\/p>\n
\nWhen asked about the moment, she told TMZ: “Everybody’s having a good time, and security was just doing a lot. There’s always that one.<\/p>\n
\n“There’s nothing to wonder.<\/p>\n
\n“The first thing people do is make assumptions, but at the end of the day, I just don’t tolerate disrespect, especially when it’s unwarranted and it’s unprovoked.”<\/p>\n
\nMeanwhile, Teyana has also hit out at her critics after she was seen jumping to her feet and wildly applauding after Amy Madigan was named Best Supporting Actress for her performing in Weapons, while the other losing nominees appeared much more subdued.<\/p>\n
\nTaking to X, she fired back: “The world holds so much misery that miserable hearts forget the face of happiness. <\/p>\n
\n“They grow comfortable being sore losers, so when they see real sportsmanship it unsettles them! like holy water touching a demon. <\/p>\n
\n“Because clapping for someone else\u2019s victory requires something many people never learned\u2026how to win with grace [and] pure joy, and how to lose with grace, chin up [and] dignity.”<\/p>\n
