No one else was injured in the incident.<\/p>\n<p>Police say Robinson had been driving a replica undercover car with stolen U.S. government plates and going by the alias \u201cMike King.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe agencies that he reported to work for do not exist. So dignitaries, basically special dignitary police, that agency does not exist within the federal government,\u201d said Dallas Deputy Police Chief William Griffith in a statement issued on Monday (via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/jasmine-crockett-defends-security-guard-killed-police-standoff-wanted-impersonating-cop\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Fox News<\/a>).<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><noscript><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"589\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.thehollywoodgossip.com\/uploads\/2026\/03\/GettyImages-2266216713-589x1024.jpg\" alt=\"Rep. There was no actual federal agency that he worked for that existed. He was very good at hiding his true identity \u2026 He had been living like this for many years.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In a statement of her own, Crockett expressed her condolences to Robinson\u2019s loved ones.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a former public defender, I\u2019ve always believed people are more than the worst thing they\u2019ve ever done. I believe in redemption. The man we knew showed up with respect, care, and commitment to protecting others,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/JasmineForUS\/status\/2033671028027887860\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">she wrote<\/a>, adding:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re still learning the full story, but today we mourn a life lost. Our team followed all protocols outlined by the House to contract additional security,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe were approved to use this vendor who also provided security services for additional entities in the local community and worked closely with law enforcement agencies including Capitol Police.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe fact that an individual was able to somehow circumvent the vetting processes for something as sensitive as security for members of Congress highlights the loopholes and shortcomings in many of our systems,\u201d she continued, adding:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is incredibly alarming, especially for those members who receive high volumes of credible and sophisticated death threats.
