Teri Hatcher<\/strong><\/a> announced that her 11-year-old dog, Pumpkin, has died.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is with deep sadness that I said goodbye to Pumpkin yesterday,\u201d the Desperate Housewives<\/em><\/a> alum, 61, wrote via Instagram<\/a> on Sunday, March 15. \u201cSix years ago when I went looking to adopt a dog, I wanted a senior (because I knew most people would be looking for puppies). So I knew this day would eventually come faster than I\u2019d want it to.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hatcher\u2019s post included a series of photos of Pumpkin over the years, including outings to the beach and quality time with additional members of the Hatcher household.<\/p>\n

While Hatcher is heartbroken over Pumpkin\u2019s passing, she shared that her pup \u201chad the chance to touch so many hearts and comfort so many souls\u201d in his life.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tSaying goodbye to their TV best friends. While many series feature adorable pets in their episodes, a few have aired heartbreaking scenes after the animals\u00a0died. \u201cWith the season 10 finale also comes Tuesday\u2019s last episode on\u00a0Chicago Fire,\u201d\u00a0dog trainer Christine Mahaney wrote via Instagram in May 2022, announcing the death of the TV dalmatian. \u201cIt breaks [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cWhether in my personal life or during visits to @childrensla as a dog therapy team to both patients and staff, his rock star looks with his cuddly soft fur and loving demeanor were an endless comfort and a true blessing,\u201d she continued. \u201cThank you, Pumpkin, for coming into my life and for all you gave to so many.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hatcher added that even when Pumpkin wasn\u2019t feeling his best, he was always a good boy in her eyes.<\/p>\n

\u201cI knew you always tried to be the best dog even when it was hard for your body\u2026 and Pumpkin, you were the best dog. I\u2019m gutted,\u201d she penned. \u201cI did, and would have done, anything and everything to make you well. I\u2019m so sorry there weren\u2019t answers. Sometimes it\u2019s just like that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hatcher wished Pumpkin \u201clove and light\u201d in his \u201conward\u201d journey and gave him one last bit of praise.<\/p>\n

\u201cBless you, sweet Pumpkin. You truly were the best dog,\u201d she concluded.<\/p>\n

Several of Hatcher\u2019s friends sent their condolences her way.<\/p>\n
