It\u2019s been a long time coming, but Netflix is finally ready to show off its upcoming adaptation of One Piece<\/em> \u2014 we got the very first trailer at the streamer\u2019s Tudum event today. The clip shows off around 90 seconds of the live-action pirate series, featuring the main cast \u2014 which includes I\u00f1aki Godoy in the lead role \u2014 as well as giant sea monsters and a very stretchy arm.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Just as important: the eight-episode series now has a premiere date. It\u2019ll start streaming on Netflix on August 31st.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cConsidering my expected life span, I believe this is the last chance to bring\u00a0One Piece<\/em>\u00a0to the entire world,\u201d Oda said at the time. \u201cIf we\u2019re going to do it, I want to be able to supervise things while I\u2019m still active. That\u2019s why I agreed to the live-action adaptation of\u00a0One Piece<\/em>\u00a0back in 2016.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
