As predicted, Pixar’s Hoppers<\/b> has got legs, bringing in $28.5 million in its second weekend of release. The film fell only 36% from its opening weekend, and has made $86 million domestic and $77.9 million overseas, for a total of $164.7 million.<\/p>\n
The newest Colleen Hoover adaptation Reminders of Him<\/b> debuted well above expectations, bringing in $18.2 domestic for the number two spot at the box office. The Maika Monroe starrer also earned $10 million overseas, which combined with the domestic take is a great start against a $25 million budget. Hoover’s adaptations have been finding unmet demand from female audiences, so that is a promising sign for October’s upcoming adaptation of Verity<\/b>.<\/p>\n
Third place went to A24’s latest horror release Undertone<\/b>, which brought in $9.3 million in its debut weekend. The film was acquired by A24 for $3-4 million, so it is off to an excellent start despite a C Cinemascore.<\/p>\n
In fourth place was Scream 7<\/b>, which added another $8.3 million to its total and became the highest grossing film in the franchise. It has now made $107 million domestically, and $176.9 million globally.<\/p>\n
Rounding out the top five was GOAT<\/b> with $4.7 million. The Bride<\/b> did not fare well in its second weekend of release, falling to the sixth spot with a take of only $2.1 million. This weekend brings its totals to $11.3 million domestic and $21 million global, certainly not what Warner Bros would have hoped for its $90 million budgeted film.<\/p>\n
