Mika Amonsen<\/strong> called weathering<\/a> the backlash after Boston Blue<\/em> recast Donnie Wahlberg<\/strong>\u2018s Blue Bloods<\/em><\/a> son the \u201cmost challenging\u201d part of the gig.<\/p>\n \u201cThat initial pressure from fans and making sure that I represented Sean in a way that Andrew [Terraciano] would appreciate, fans would appreciate and have them understand that I wasn\u2019t just coming into this creating whatever I wanted [was hard],\u201d Amonsen exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em> about playing Boston Blue<\/em>\u2018s version of Sean Reagan.<\/a><\/p>\n Amonsen was grateful for the support<\/a> he received.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s been reciprocated well and I\u2019m happy about that. But I think that that was the biggest challenge. At this point, I\u2019ve slipped into comfortability,\u201d he noted. \u201cI don\u2019t feel an overly large amount of stress and pressure. Donnie has done a great job of making me feel super comfortable with the entire experience. Fans seem to really enjoy it, and I don\u2019t feel as intimidated as I did going into it. It\u2019s probably just a growth thing.\u201d<\/p>\n Danny\u2019s (Wahlberg) journey in New York was featured on CBS\u2019 Blue Bloods<\/em>, which ran from 2010 to 2024. The spinoff, which premiered in October 2025, kicked off with Danny visiting Boston after Sean ended up in a coma. This version of Sean looked a little different because the role was previously played by Terraciano.<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cIt was a difficult decision \u2014 certainly for me \u2014 and it\u2019s one of the decisions that made me uncertain about doing the show. It\u2019s like, \u2018How do we do this with a different [actor]?’\u201d Wahlberg, 56, admitted to Us<\/em> last month. \u201cI have to say, Mika has the same level of grace and class that Andrew showed. Mika has great respect for Andrew. He stepped into the role very mindfully and carefully and he took his time. He was very thoughtful about how he went about playing this character.\u201d<\/p>\n
