The Pitt<\/em>\u2018s Supriya Ganesh<\/strong> is breaking down<\/a> her character Samira\u2019s shocking onscreen health scare.<\/p>\n

During the Thursday, March 12, episode of the HBO Max series, Samira\u2019s stress about issues<\/a> outside of work caused her to have what she thought was a heart attack. Ultimately, Samira and her coworkers realized she suffered an anxiety attack.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was something that I didn\u2019t know was going to happen,\u201d Ganesh, 28, exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em>. \u201cI found out in episode 9 that it was something that was going to happen. It was scary because I\u2019ve had experiences with it as well.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ganesh was \u201cexcited\u201d to explore a topic she was familiar with, adding, \u201cTo almost have imposter syndrome about my anxiety and going through, \u2018Do I even experience this thing?\u2019 It was weird. I kind of dug in and was excited to have this character feel this way \u2014 in such a big way.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tThe Pitt swept the 2026 awards season after its gripping story lines and dynamic cast performances, leaving fans eager to see more. The medical drama, created by R. Scott Gemmill and executive produced by John Wells and Noah Wyle, premiered on HBO Max in January 2025. The series chronicles the fictional Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center\u2019s [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

She continued: \u201cSamira is very empathetic and she\u2019s really professional about her empathy. I think she tries to keep things very by the book \u2014 going above and beyond. But to have her have this almost explosive moment was really freeing in this really cool way.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ganesh noted that filming such a visceral moment<\/a> can feel \u201creally real\u201d at times.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t remember what I did [after]. I think I went home and slept. It\u2019s actually quite exhausting,\u201d she admitted. \u201cI did a lot of that in the span of a day. It\u2019s sometimes a weird thing where you\u2019re bringing in an energy because you\u2019re making your body do certain [things]. I was breathing a lot \u2014 really fast \u2014 and that\u2019s not good for your body. It was definitely a challenge in a lot of ways, but it was good.\u201d<\/p>\n

Elsewhere in the episode, Samira had a tense moment with Robby<\/a> (Noah Wyle<\/strong>) when he told her to go home following her panic attack. They ultimately talked it out, but the scene touched on a consistent pattern of how Robby treats the resident.<\/p>\n
