\t\t<\/p>\n Donald Trump<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s military action in Iran carries a heavy price tag.<\/p>\n Multiple news organizations are reporting that Congress was briefed by Pentagon officials on Tuesday (March 10) regarding how much money was spent in the first six days of fighting after the president launched \u201cOperation Epic Fury\u201d<\/a> on February 28. <\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n The Associated Press<\/a>, NBC News<\/a> and The New York Times<\/a><\/em> reported the figure to be over $11.3 billion. <\/p>\n AP noted that part of that figure was an estimated $5 billion spent on munitions. <\/p>\n NBC contacted the Pentagon for comment, and a spokesperson issued the following statement: \u201cWe do not comment on closed-door discussions or matters. Regarding the cost of Operation Epic Fury, we won\u2019t know the cost until the mission is complete.\u201d<\/p>\n However, Sen. Chris Coons told the outlet that he thought the estimate was on the low end of how much was really spent.<\/p>\n \u201cI expect that the current total operating number is significantly above that,\u201d he said, adding, \u201cIf all you\u2019re looking at is the replacement cost for the munitions used, it\u2019s already well beyond $10 billion.\u201d<\/p>\n The war in Iran, which Trump<\/strong> says is somehow both \u201cvery complete\u201d and just beginning<\/a>, has also resulted in the deaths of multiple U.S. service members<\/a>. <\/p>\n Americans and others across the globe might also be paying more as the price of oil surges due to conflict in the Middle East.
