Queen Camilla delivered a speech condemning abuse and violence against women during an International Women\u2019s Day event<\/p>\n

The 78-year-old told survivors they are not alone and criticised those who \u201cheap abuse on others without thought of consequence\u201d.<\/p>\n

Camilla<\/a> spoke at an event on Tuesday (10.03.26) marking International Women\u2019s Day, which fell on 8 March, hosted by the Women of the World organisation at St James\u2019s Palace, London. <\/p>\n

The gathering also celebrated the 15th anniversary of the Women of the World movement and brought together campaigners, performers and public figures including Helen Mirren<\/a>, Hannah Waddingham, Cherie Blair and Penny Lancaster.<\/p>\n

During the event, Camilla<\/a> wore a badge bearing the phrase \u201cShame Must Change Sides\u201d, which had been given to her by French rape survivor Gis\u00e8le Pelicot. <\/p>\n

\nHer speech took place amid renewed attention on the Jeffrey Epstein scandal following legal developments involving her brother-in-law Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, 66, who has previously faced allegations connected to Epstein.<\/p>\n

\nCamilla said: \u201cTo every survivor of every kind of violence, many of whom have not been able to tell their stories or who have not been believed, please know that you are not alone.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nShe added: \u201cWe stand with you and alongside you, today and every day, in solidarity, sorrow and sympathy.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cEvery woman has a story. And these stories must be told.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cBecause when we live in a culture of silence, we empower violence against women and girls.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nCamilla also criticised abusive behaviour online, saying it contributed to wider patterns of harm. <\/p>\n

\nShe said: \u201cAnd we cannot be surprised by physical cruelty if, in digital forums, we turn a blind eye to those who heap abuse on others without thought of consequence. <\/p>\n

\n\u201cEvery woman has a story. And so, too, does every man. Let us join together to, in Gis\u00e8le Pelicot\u2019s words, bring about \u2018a collective awakening\u2019.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cIt\u2019s about education, respect and kindness towards others. It\u2019s that simple.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nAndrew Windsor has faced allegations from sex trafficking victim Virginia Giuffre, who died in 2025 from suicide aged 41 after having accused him of sexual misconduct linked to his paedophile friend Jeffrey Epstein. <\/p>\n

\nThe former prince \u2013\u00a0stripped of his royal titles in October by his older brother King Charles, 77, has always denied the allegations and later reached an out-of-court settlement with Virginia thought have been around \u00a312 million \u2013\u00a0without admitting liability.<\/p>\n

\nWhen asked if Camilla\u2019s speech was a \u201cthinly veiled\u201d reference to the Epstein scandal, a Buckingham Palace spokesman said: \u201cI think Her Majesty\u2019s speech speaks for itself.\u201d<\/p>\n
