And these stories must be told.<\/p>\n<p>\n\u201cBecause when we live in a culture of silence, we empower violence against women and girls.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\nCamilla also criticised abusive behaviour online, saying it contributed to wider patterns of harm. <\/p>\n<p>\nShe said: \u201cAnd we cannot be surprised by physical cruelty if, in digital forums, we turn a blind eye to those who heap abuse on others without thought of consequence. <\/p>\n<p>\n\u201cEvery woman has a story. And so, too, does every man. Let us join together to, in Gis\u00e8le Pelicot\u2019s words, bring about \u2018a collective awakening\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\n\u201cIt\u2019s about education, respect and kindness towards others.
