Tucker Carlson<\/strong> is still technically under contract with Fox News\u2014but that apparently isn\u2019t stopping the host from attacking the network on his new Twitter video series. In the Thursday episode<\/a> of Tucker on Twitter,<\/em> Carlson\u2019s latest venture since Fox canceled his prime-time show in April, the host spilled some internal drama playing out over at the network. Fox News has parted ways with the producer behind a Tuesday chyron that described Joe Biden<\/strong> as a \u201cwannabe dictator,\u201d Carlson said.<\/p>\n Carlson did not mention the producer by name, though per a Daily Beast report<\/a>, the producer was Alexander McCaskill,<\/strong> a former member of Carlson\u2019s defunct Fox News show.<\/p>\n Carlson did, however, take an apparent shot at the network\u2019s chief executive, Suzanne Scott,<\/strong> saying that \u201cthe women who run the network panicked.\u201d \u201cFirst they scolded the producer who put the banner on the screen,\u201d he added. \u201cLess than 24 hours after that, he resigned. He had been at Fox for more than a decade. He was considered one of the most capable people in the building. He offered to stay for the customary two weeks, but Fox told him to clear out his desk and leave immediately.\u201d (A Fox News spokesperson previously told<\/a> Vanity Fair<\/em> that \u201cThe chyron was taken down immediately and was addressed.\u201d)<\/p>\n Carlson is reportedly under a non-compete contract with Fox News through December 2024. According to Axios<\/a>, the network sent him a cease and desist letter earlier this week over his decision to launch a new show on Twitter, making Carlson\u2019s commentary on the network\u2019s chyron \u201cscandal,\u201d as he put it, all the more intriguing.<\/p>\n Carlson spends the segment defending McCaskill\u2019s description of Biden and accusing the president of \u201ctrying to put the other candidate in prison for the rest of his life for a crime he himself committed.\u201d Carlson also suggested that Biden has \u201ca totalitarian impulse,\u201d and baselessly linked him to the January arrest of Michelle Witthoeft,<\/strong> the mother of Ashli Babbitt, a pro-Trump rioter who was shot and killed by police after breaching the Capitol on January 6, 2021. (In reality, Witthoeft was arrested<\/a> and charged after protesting without a permit on the second anniversary of the Capitol attack. The charges were later dropped.)\u00a0<\/p>\n As for Fox News, the network has suffered repeated attacks from other right-wing media personalities since canning Carlson\u2019s show. Most recently, popular right-wing podcast host Matt Walsh,<\/strong> a leading propagator of antitrans rhetoric, accused Fox Corp. of being too \u201cwoke\u201d<\/a> around LGBTQ+\u00a0issues (yes, the same Fox Corp. that frequently runs virulently anti-LGBTQ+<\/a> coverage on its news network).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
