Kris Jenner<\/strong><\/a> fought to get editing rights when she and her family got their start on reality TV.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know if this is accurate, but I\u2019m probably one of the only women in the reality television world that has editing rights to our show,\u201d the Kardashians<\/em> star, 70, said during the Monday, March 9, episode of the \u201cSmartLess\u201d podcast. \u201cI am able to take anything out.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jenner added she\u2019s had this power since \u201cday one\u201d of filming Keeping Up With the Kardashians<\/em>. Kris and her children \u2014 Kourtney Kardashian<\/strong>, Kim Kardashian<\/strong>, Khlo\u00e9 Kardashian<\/strong>, Rob Kardashian<\/strong>, Kendall Jenner<\/strong> and Kylie Jenner<\/strong> \u2014 starred on the E! series, which aired for 20 seasons from 2007 to 2021. The family currently stars on The Kardashians<\/em>, which premiered on Hulu in 2022.<\/p>\n

\u201cI said, \u2018I am not doing this unless I have [it].\u2019 \u2026 Over the years, from day one when we knew we had that freedom and that kind of power so to speak, it made us more comfortable,\u201d Kris reflected. \u201cIt made us be the way we always are and how we\u2019re bonded together.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tKhlo\u00e9 Kardashian is not pleased with Kris Jenner\u2018s role as her manager \u2014 and she\u2019s not holding back. During the Thursday, November 2, episode of The Kardashians, Kris, 67, was excited to present Khlo\u00e9, 39, a pitch for a new project. \u201cI\u2019m trying to figure out what [Khlo\u00e9\u2019s] next chapter might be,\u201d Kris shared in [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

While Kris has had the power to edit, she\u2019s \u201cnever\u201d had to use it for her family. However, Kris has asked for the editors\u2019 assistance if her hair \u201clooked crazy\u201d or if someone could \u201cfix\u201d her \u201clipstick.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI was so vain,\u201d she quipped.<\/p>\n

Kris also explained how the idea of doing a reality show with her family came to fruition.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think a lot of people talked to me and a couple of my older kids from time to time, but always for years, had said to me, \u2018Your family, you\u2019ve got to do a reality show. Nobody would believe what goes on in this life of yours.\u2019 You couldn\u2019t make any of it up,\u201d she recalled. \u201cSo I eventually decided to create this show in my mind, and it kind of lived up there for a while.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kris added that good friend Kathie Lee Gifford<\/strong> was one of the people in her inner circle who thought the Kardashian-Jenner family\u2019s lives were \u201cwild\u201d enough for reality TV.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just thought it was normal,\u201d Kris confessed. \u201cI thought, \u2018I\u2019m living the life.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Kris shared that she met with legendary casting director Deena Katz<\/strong>, who \u201ccouldn\u2019t believe\u201d what a typical day looked like for the family.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe people that would call or stop by [our house], just a lot of celebrity interactions and drama and just wild,\u201d Kris said. \u201cIt was extraordinary.\u201d<\/p>\n
