Chris Robinson<\/a>, Bingham, 14, with former fiance Matt Bellamy and seven-year-old Rani with partner Danny Fujikawa – thinks it is “wonderful” that people no longer feel they have to stay in difficult personal situations but is also concerned that couples are more willing to walk away than to take the harder option of working through their issues to forge a stronger bond.<\/p>\nSpeaking on the On Film… With Kevin McCarthy podcast, she said: \u201cOne of the things I think about in movies is it\u2019s so easy for us today to leave.<\/p>\n
\u201cTo neglect what it is to fight for something, to believe in something, to believe in your family, to believe in your partnership, to work hard for something.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe live in a time \u2014 it\u2019s wonderful \u2014 people don\u2019t have to stay in complicated relationships, but it\u2019s a lot easier to leave than it is to stay nowadays.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI think the thing that hits people more than they want to maybe admit, is that relationships and life is hard.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cBut when you have the grit and the resilience to stick with it or to stick with someone or to work through something, the other side of that is really powerful, strong and beautiful, and it gives everybody else a sense of like safety and love.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThe 46-year-old actress described the feeling as a “big blanket” and expressed her belief that the rise in popularity of self-help books and podcasts show how people are struggling with the notion of “What is it to live a healthy, long, beautiful life”.<\/p>\n
\nDiscussing an emotional scene in her new movie Song Sung Blue – in which she stars opposite Hugh Jackman – she said: \u201cThere\u2019s something about movies when they hit you in a certain way.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cLike that scene, when you see it, you\u2019re like, \u2018Oh, when you earn that comfort because you stand by somebody, or you get through the hard stuff, or you are so in it with that person that, like, you don\u2019t know if you\u2019re going to get at it, but you\u2019ll never ever let\u2026 you\u2019ll never give up on that person.<\/p>\n
\n \u201cIn a moment like that, you\u2019re like, \u2018Oh\u2026 that\u2019s why we work so hard for love,\u2019 but we need to work at it.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nAnd Kate believes films such as Song Sung Blue can be “really inspirational” when it comes to encouraging couples to tackle adversity together.<\/p>\n
\nShe added: \u201cLife hits us really hard with all kinds of things, and some people a lot harder than others.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cAnd so, when you see movies that kind of are more affirming\u2026 they can be really inspirational, that people can get through it with each other if they just stick with it. Love that about this movie.\u201d<\/p>\n
