Harry Styles has been working on his dancing<\/p>\n
The 32-year-old singer showed off some impressive dance moves in the promo for his latest single and while he isn’t usually known for his footwork, he worked hard to nail the choreography and rejected the idea of having someone else step in for the more tricky parts, including a lift sequence.<\/p>\n
Chorographer Ryan Heffington told The Sunday Times: “[Harry] wanted to do it all. <\/p>\n
\u201cHe watched it happen and said, \u2018No, I\u2019m going to do it,\u2019 so he did.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat dance I came up with is really hard and really fast \u2026 I didn\u2019t know Harry\u2019s capabilities with that genre of movement but he just walked in and said, \u2018Let\u2019s go\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nRyan was introduced to Harry through his creative director Molly Hawkins and the pair hit it off.<\/p>\n
\nHe said of their first meeting: “[It] went really well, he\u2019s such a pleasure \u2026 a kind human and a really hard worker.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cWhat I like about Harry is that he\u2019s not fearful. He\u2019s not cemented into being one genre of person.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nHarry’s former band, One Direction, were not known for their dancing abilities and the Watermelon Sugar hitmaker himself has had his moves described as “dad dancing”, but Ryan praised the star for how he pushed himself ahead of his Aperture routine at last weekend’s BRIT Awards.<\/p>\n
\nHe said: \u201cHarry\u2019s incredible. It\u2019s hard to learn in the public eye; expectations are so high for them to be the best dancer, the best singer \u2026 We\u2019ve seen numerous cases of people trying things and getting slammed<\/p>\n
\n\u201cBut I think he\u2019s older and more confident and grounded now…<\/p>\n
\n\u201cHe never wanted a break, he just wanted to learn it and do the best he could. The dancers at the Brits were huffing, puffing and sweating \u2026 Harry just nailed it.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nAhead of the show-stopping routine at the Brits, Ryan worked with Harry for just two days, but he was pleasantly surprised to discover the Sign of the Times singer had spent time learning the steps from a video he had sent him just a week before.<\/p>\n
\nHe said: \u201cI thought he just wanted to see the concept but when we got to the rehearsal in Manchester, he knew most of it.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cHe really studied it and learnt the routine super fast, despite having little to no dance background. I just did some fine tuning and cleaned it up a little bit.\u201d<\/p>\n
