Meghan Markle<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s podcast, \u201cArchetypes,\u201d will not be back for a second season despite its initial success<\/a> as she and Prince Harry<\/strong><\/a> leave Spotify behind.<\/p>\n In a joint statement with the streaming platform, the couple\u2019s Archewell Audio company<\/a> noted to Deadline<\/em><\/a> on Thursday, June 15: \u201cSpotify and Archewell Audio have mutually agreed to part ways and are proud of the series we made together.\u201d<\/p>\n A representative from WME talent agency<\/a> \u2014 with whom the Duchess of Sussex, 41, signed earlier this year \u2014 echoed Meghan\u2019s pride in her work in a statement to the Wall Street Journal<\/em><\/a>. \u201cThe team behind Archetypes remain proud of the podcast they created at Spotify. Meghan is continuing to develop more content for the Archetypes audience on another platform,\u201d the rep noted.<\/p>\n The Suits<\/em><\/a> alum and Harry, 38, inked a $20 million deal with Spotify<\/a> in late 2020 after stepping down from their roles<\/a> as senior members of the royal family. Through the exclusive partnership, Archewell Audio<\/a> intended to \u201cproduce programming that uplifts and entertains audiences around the world\u201d and \u201cspotlight diverse perspectives and voices,\u201d per the brand\u2019s website.<\/p>\n Meghan\u2019s podcast debuted in August 2022<\/a> and was a quick hit among fans<\/a>, becoming the No. 1 podcast in the United States, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and Canada within days of its premiere.<\/p>\n Throughout the show\u2019s first season \u2014 which featured only 12 episodes \u2014 Meghan sat down with a wide range of guests including Mariah Carey<\/strong><\/a>, Serena Williams<\/strong><\/a>, Paris Hilton<\/strong><\/a>, Andy Cohen<\/strong><\/a> and more.<\/p>\n In her final episode, the Bench<\/em> author sent a loving shout-out<\/a> to her listeners who helped make \u201cArchetypes\u201d such a positive experience<\/a>. \u201cThank you for listening and learning with me. This has been liberating and healing, and it\u2019s been fun,\u201d she said in November 2022.<\/p>\n Meghan went on to share an inspiring quote from the Greek poet Christianopoulos as she reflected on escaping the \u201cboxes some may try to squeeze you into\u201d and the \u201cstereotypes that are attributed to you that don\u2019t quite fit the full person that you are.\u201d<\/p>\n She continued: \u201c\u2018What didn\u2019t you do to bury me \/ but you forgot, that I was a seed.’\u201d<\/p>\n The podcast\u2019s empowering content struck a chord with listeners<\/a> and even won a trophy at the 2022 People\u2019s Choice Awards.
