Harry replied: \u201cWell, I\u2019m hosting next week and it\u2019s been a while, so I just wanted to watch, get a feel for it.”<\/p>\n
\nRyan praised the former One Direction singer for his “professionalism” before going on to plug his new movie.<\/p>\n
\nShe said: \u201cYeah, that\u2019s so professional, that\u2019s awesome you\u2019re here. I just wish someone would have told me.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI have a new movie coming out, it\u2019s called Project Harry Styles. Nope \u2014 it\u2019d be a good movie, though. \u2026 And people are saying it\u2019s like E.T. meets Interstellar, which is crazy because those are like, what, two of the best films of all time, so they\u2019re kind of like saying it\u2019s like, what, double that? I don\u2019t know, I didn\u2019t say it.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI\u2019ve always loved making films about space. It\u2019s just something about them gives me perspective.”<\/p>\n
\nBut he trailed off before the camera panned over to Harry away from him.<\/p>\n
\nHe asked: \u201cI\u2019m sorry, why are we on Harry\u2019s side?\u201d <\/p>\n
\nHarry replied: \u201cI don\u2019t know, I\u2019m just listening.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nRyan quipped: \u201cWell, could you listen less cool? I think your coolness is becoming a bit of an issue.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nLater in his monologue, a group of dancers dressed as aliens appeared to ask if they will perform their planned number, to a song from Project Hail Mary, and Ryan promised they would.<\/p>\n
\nHe said: \u201cIt\u2019s very poignant and it\u2019s the anthem of our generation. Some have said it\u2019s called Sign of the Times, and oh my God, it\u2019s by Harry Styles. Now I gotta sing it in front of him.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nRyan began singing a hesitant rendition of the song before turning to perform the I’m Just Ken lyrics from Barbie.<\/p>\n
\nGorillaz were musical guests on this week’s SNL but Harry will perform double duty as both host and musical guest next week.<\/p>\n
