Ryan Gosling<\/strong><\/a> brought back his iconic Barbie<\/em> anthem \u201cI\u2019m Just Ken\u201d when Harry Styles<\/strong><\/a> crashed his Saturday Night Live<\/em><\/a> monologue.<\/p>\n

Gosling, 45, hosted SNL<\/em> for the fourth time on Saturday, March 7, to promote his science fiction blockbuster Project Hail Mary<\/em> but he wasn\u2019t counting on a distraction from Styles. The former One Direction star, 32, is next week\u2019s host and musical guest on Saturday Night Live<\/em> but unexpectedly showed up in the front row<\/a> in Studio 8H a bit ahead of schedule.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, I\u2019m hosting next week and it\u2019s been a while,\u201d Styles explained in a nod to his previous SNL<\/em> hosting stint in November 2019. \u201cI just wanted to watch, get a feel for it!\u201d<\/p>\n

Gosling was impressed, calling Style\u2019s impromptu study session\u201cso professional [and] so awesome,\u201d Unfortunately, Styles\u2019 presence seemed to throw Gosling off his hosting rhythm as he accidentally called his new movie Project Harry Styles<\/em> instead of Project Hail Mary<\/em>.<\/p>\n

When the cameraman kept cutting back to Styles throughout the monologue, Gosling finally got fed up with his unexpected guest.<\/p>\n

\u201cCould you listen less cool? It\u2019s like your coolness is becoming an issue,\u201d Gosling complained before the cameraman revealed he was wearing an \u201cI <3 Harry\u201d T-shirt.<\/p>\n

The distraction took up so much air time that Gosling had to break the news to SNL<\/em> cast member Sarah Sherman<\/strong> that he was cutting their alien-themed dance number.<\/p>\n

\u201cHarry Styles is here? Get me to God\u2019s country,\u201d Sherman, 33, joked in a sly reference to Morgan Wallen<\/strong>\u2019s infamous SNL<\/em> walkoff<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Eventually, Gosling tried to shake off his nerves by actually singing Styles\u2019 2017 single \u201cSign of the Times\u201d right in front of him. (Gosling\u2019s Project Hail Mary<\/em> costar Sandra H\u00fcller<\/strong> sings \u201cSign of the Times\u201d as a karaoke song in the movie.)<\/p>\n

\u201c[The song] is very poignant. It\u2019s the anthem of our generation, some have said,\u201d Gosling pointed out. \u201cIt\u2019s called \u2018Sign of the Times\u2019 and, oh my god, it\u2019s by Harry Styles! Now I gotta sing it in front of him?\u201d<\/p>\n

A mopey Gosling interrupted himself one line into the anthemic track to admit that \u201cnobody wants this.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is probably my final show \u2026 I genuinely hate this,\u201d he complained.<\/p>\n

Gosling eventually resorted to singing the chorus to his Oscar-nominated Barbie<\/em> track \u201cI\u2019m Just Ken\u201d as a way to bail out of continuing with \u201cSign of the Times.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI promised myself I wouldn\u2019t do that,\u201d Gosling dejectedly admitted.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tTaylor Swift is just like Us \u2014 she can\u2019t stop singing Ryan Gosling\u2018s version of \u201cAll Too Well.\u201d Swift, 34, praised Gosling\u2019s playful cover following his latest appearance on Saturday Night Live. \u201cAll Too Well (Ryan and Emily\u2019s Version) !!!\u201d she wrote via her Instagram Story on Sunday, April 14, alongside a clip from the [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The actor reminisced about how \u201ccool\u201d it was to sing \u201cI\u2019m Just Ken\u201d at the Oscars in 2024 before explaining, \u201cI just thought I had another one in me, I guess?\u201d<\/p>\n

SNL<\/em> star Mikey Day <\/strong>came out to comfort Gosling with a kiss on the cheek, with the entire cast soon joining them on stage to help boost morale.<\/p>\n
