\t\t<\/p>\n Jesse Tyler Ferguson<\/strong><\/a> is explaining why he\u2019s glad the Modern Family<\/strong><\/a><\/em> spinoff series fell through.<\/p>\n When the Emmy-winning comedy series came to an end in April 2020, a spinoff centered around Mitch (Ferguson<\/strong>) and Cam (Eric Stonestreet<\/strong><\/a>) as they moved to Missouri was in the works, but ABC ended up passing on the idea.<\/p>\n During the Thursday (March 5) episode of his Dinner\u2019s On Me<\/em> podcast<\/a>, Jesse<\/strong> explained why he\u2019s glad the spinoff didn\u2019t happen.<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span>\u201cModern Family<\/em> ended and then we had a pandemic, you know. I was so excited for this next chapter of my life, and then it was like, everyone go inside,\u201d Jesse<\/strong> explained, noting that producers \u201cbrewing this idea of maybe doing a Modern Family<\/em> spinoff with [him and Stonestreet<\/strong>].\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI was interested,\u201d Jesse<\/strong> continued. \u201cBut I was also supposed to do this play in New York,\u201d he explained, \u201cIt sort of felt like, as the reality of, maybe the spinoff was actually going to happen, I literally felt like, Oh my god, I want to date other people.\u201d<\/p>\n After playing Mitchell Pritchett for more than a decade, Jesse<\/strong> said that he was ready to explore other roles, noting that he wanted to \u201cfeel what it\u2019s like not to do that.\u201d<\/p>\n In an interview from 2024, Eric<\/strong> shared his idea for a possible Modern Family<\/em> special<\/a>.<\/p>\n <\/span><\/p><\/div>\n
