Look Mum No Computer wrote Eins, Zwei, Drei as a mental escape from mundane Britain<\/p>\n
The electronic musician and inventor – real name Sam Battle – is the UK\u2019s entrant for the Eurovision Song Contest 2026, and on Friday (06.03.26) he unveiled the electronic Euro-pop track he’ll be performing at the final at the Wiener Stadthalle in Vienna, Austria.<\/p>\n
The Grand Final of Eurovision Song Contest 2026 will take place in Austria on Saturday, 16 May, with the semi-finals taking place earlier in the week. <\/p>\n
Eins, Zwei, Drei is a ’90s inspired anthem, that blends Battle\u2019s signature analogue synth sound and pounding electronic bass with German lyrics celebrates breaking free from the monotony of the nine-to-five and highlights his desire to escape the mundane by leaning into humour with British cultural references, including a nod to the classic school dessert. <\/p>\n
Lyrics include, “with a slice of peperoni, got me feeling gnocchi gnocchi\u2026 so sick of munching roly poly with custard. I\u2019m so bored of it, bored of it, what\u2019s the point of it point of it”.<\/p>\n
\nSpeaking to presenter Scott Mills on his BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show, Battle revealed his inspiration for the track, saying: \u201cIf you didn\u2019t know that it\u2019s one two three in German, for people who weren\u2019t aware. <\/p>\n
\n“I felt like writing a song that included a bunch of different European things. <\/p>\n
\nThe whole song is about going on holiday and feeling like \u2018ooo, I\u2019m gonna go on holiday and maybe have some pizza in Italy. I\u2019m tied of this roly poly which I love eating for most of the week here, but I just want a little bit of a break from it.'”<\/p>\n
\nThe Kent-based artist has built a devoted online following not just for his music, but for the bizarre electronic instruments he invents and performs with.<\/p>\n
\nHe added: \u201cI\u2019ve built a lot of things, most of them are musical machines, however I\u2019ve did build a flame thrower once, it fired a lot more fire then I was expecting. Yeah I mean a flame fire organ which is an organ that fired flames, a flame throwing synthesiser, I got Furby organs\u2026 I just like building stuff.\u201d<\/p>\n
