Kennedy Jr.<\/strong><\/a> for the first time ever.<\/p>\n If you didn\u2019t know, the 65-year-old Steel Magnolias<\/em> actress was in an on-and-off relationship with the late magazine publisher for years before calling it quits for good shortly before he started dating late wife Carolyn Bessette<\/strong>.<\/p>\n After all these years, Daryl <\/strong>has never publicly talked about her relationship, but following the release of the new FX and Hulu series Love Story<\/strong><\/a><\/em>, Daryl<\/strong> released a scathing new essay on Friday (March 6) slamming the series from Ryan Murphy<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span>\u201cThe character \u2018Daryl Hannah\u2019 portrayed in the series is not even a remotely accurate representation of my life, my conduct or my relationship with John,\u201d Daryl<\/strong> wrote for The New York Times<\/a><\/em>. \u201cThe actions and behaviors attributed to me are untrue.\u201d <\/p>\n In the series, Dree Hemingway<\/strong><\/a> plays Daryl<\/strong> and many have criticized how the Splash<\/em> actress is portrayed.<\/p>\n \u201cI have long believed that engaging with distortion often amplifies it,\u201d Daryl <\/strong>continued. \u201cBut a recent tragedy-exploiting television series about John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette features a character using my name and presents her as me. The choice to present her as irritating, self-absorbed, whiny and inappropriate was no accident.\u201d <\/p>\n Daryl<\/strong> went on to refute multiple moments depicted in the show, including a scene of a cocaine-fueled party with her friends where the drugs have been placed on a priceless Kennedy<\/strong> family heirloom.<\/p>\n \u201cI have never used cocaine in my life or hosted cocaine-fueled parties,\u201d she wrote. \u201cI have never pressured anyone into marriage. I have never desecrated any family heirloom or intruded upon anyone\u2019s private memorial.\u201d <\/p>\n \u201cI have never planted any story in the press,\u201d Daryl<\/strong> continued. \u201cI never compared Jacqueline Onassis\u2019 death to a dog\u2019s. It\u2019s appalling to me that I even have to defend myself against a television show. These are not creative embellishments of personality. They are assertions about conduct \u2014 and they are false.\u201d<\/p>\n Daryl<\/strong> wrote, \u201cI\u2019ve endured a number of outrageous lies, crappy stories and unflattering characterizations before. I chose not to battle them but to focus on my work and respect my loved ones by keeping my private life private.
