The reality TV regular, 40, spoke about the day during an appearance on comedian Jamie Kennedy\u2019s podcast Hate to Break It to Ya after his father Ozzy passed away on 22 July aged 76 after a career spanning decades in rock music and following a gruelling battle with Parkinson\u2019s disease and agonising back pain.<\/p>\n
In the podcast interview, Jack described the final morning of Ozzy\u2019s life and said the family had not expected his death to come so quickly, and said about how the day unfolded in an ordinary way: \u201cIt was a few days after I got back that he passed, and we were\u2026 even the morning that he passed, it was like, it wasn\u2019t anything dramatic at all.\u201d<\/p>\n
Jack added: \u201cHe was up, he was doing his thing, had some breakfast, and that was it.\u201d<\/p>\n
Despite Ozzy\u2019s long-term health issues, Jack said the family had not anticipated the timing of Ozzy\u2019s death.<\/p>\n
\nJack added: \u201cObviously everyone knew he was sick, but it wasn\u2019t\u2026 he was really gearing up for the (Black Sabbath final) show, so he was exercising a lot and moving around.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cHe was fired up. But yeah, we weren\u2019t expecting it to be as quick as it was.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI just think he was done\u2026 I do think we have a choice, to a degree.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nOzzy\u2019s official cause of death was listed as cardiac arrest, with Parkinson\u2019s disease \u2013 with which he had been diagnosed in 2003 \u2013 recorded as a contributing factor in his passing.<\/p>\n
\nOzzy known for songs including Crazy Train, had continued exercising and rehearsing in the weeks leading up to what became Black Sabbath\u2019s final performance in Birmingham.<\/p>\n
\nMembers of Ozzy\u2019s family \u2013 including his wife Sharon Osbourne, 73, his son Jack and his daughter Kelly Osbourne, 41 \u2013 have previously spoken publicly about the musician since his death. <\/p>\n
\nSharon and Kelly appeared at the 2026 BRIT Awards to accept a Lifetime Achievement award on Ozzy\u2019s behalf.<\/p>\n
\nSpeaking during the ceremony, Sharon said Ozzy would not have enjoyed the formalities.<\/p>\n
\nShe added: \u201cI know that Ozzy is looking down on us all right now, and I know what he is thinking.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cHe hated to make speeches. He hated listening to speeches.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cHe\u2019d be saying, \u2018Hey, missus, shut the f*** up!\u2019<\/p>\n
\n\u201cBut I\u2019m not going to\u2026 He always wanted to do better, both personally and professionally.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cHe never felt that words were enough to thank everybody for the life that he was given and for the life that he led.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cHe may not be here, but he left us one amazing body of work that will never be forgotten by the country that made him.\u201d<\/p>\n
