\nRevealing she endured years of unexplained pain before receiving a diagnosis for the chronic condition, the Normal People actress, 27, discussed the health issue publicly for the first time in a YouTube video for Vogue, explaining how the condition affected her hormones, skin and menstrual cycles. <\/p>\n
\nShe said: \u201cI have endometriosis, so my hormones are kind of all over the place.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nDaisy added: \u201cI had extremely bad acne for most of my teenage years.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThe actress also said the condition had affected how she saw herself during that period. <\/p>\n
\nShe went on: \u201cWhen I had terrible acne, it was all I could see when I looked in the mirror.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nDaisy also described how symptoms of the disease affected her before she was diagnosed, saying: \u201cFor so long, I had such painful periods and really volatile skin.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI was diagnosed when I was, I think I was 24. I was definitely relieved to find out why I was going through it.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nDaisy said she has since found ways to help manage the hormonal effects of the condition through lifestyle changes. She explained: \u201cI\u2019ve found over the years skincare that really works for me.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nShe added: \u201cBut I also find drinking lots of water and when I eat well \u2013 especially when I try and not eat as much dairy \u2014 that really helps.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nDaisy also shared advice for people dealing with acne, reflecting on how she now views her earlier experiences. <\/p>\n
\nShe said: \u201cWhen I had terrible acne, it was all I could see when I looked in the mirror.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cBut actually when I look back at photos and videos, it\u2019s funny that so much of the beauty of you is inside and the confidence that you wear can really help.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cSo I would say to anyone with acne \u2013\u00a0I know it\u2019s all you can see, but it\u2019s not what everyone else can see.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nEndometriosis is a long-term disease in which tissue similar to the lining of the womb grows elsewhere in the body, often causing inflammation, scarring and severe pain. <\/p>\n
\nAccording to the NHS, the condition affects around one in 10 women of reproductive age in the UK \u2013 about 1.5 million people \u2013\u00a0and there is currently no cure.<\/p>\n
\nDaisy rose to prominence with her lead role in the television adaptation of Sally Rooney\u2019s novel Normal People, in which she starred opposite Paul Mescal. <\/p>\n
\nThe series became a major success during the Covid lockdown period and brought Daisy nominations at the Bafta and Golden Globe awards.<\/p>\n
\nBefore her breakout role, Daisy appeared in the BBC sitcom Outnumbered in a Christmas special and later joined the cast of the ITV drama Cold Feet, playing Olivia, the on-screen daughter of Hermione Norris.<\/p>\n
\nDaisy trained with the National Youth Theatre from the age of 14 before beginning her professional acting career as a teenager. <\/p>\n
\nShe is currently in a relationship with photographer Ben Seed.<\/p>\n
