How did she take it?<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<p>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Britney Spears arrested in California on suspicion of DUI: Sources\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ctAoWyYdPVw?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p><em>TMZ <\/em>now reports that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tmz.com\/2026\/03\/05\/britney-spears-emotional-in-jail\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Britney was apparently \u201ccrying\u201d<\/a> during her booking.<\/p>\n<p>According to their sources, the singer\u2019s behavior was perfectly out of the ordinary.<\/p>\n<p>The only remarkable thing \u2014 aside from who she was \u2014 was that she was \u201ccrying a lot\u201d during the process.<\/p>\n<p>Crying can serve multiple functions. It is not uncommon as a result to the shock and humiliation of an arrest.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, if Britney was under the influence of something like alcohol \u2014 which we of course do not know to be the case \u2014 then that could make someone more likely to cry.<\/p>\n<p>Presumably, she did not spend the entire nine hours tearful. These legal arrangements have a place \u2014 but not for people who are able to campaign for their own freedom.<\/p>\n<p>Certainly, some of these same malefactors are once again beating the conservatorship drums \u2014 hoping that a DUI is enough to return Britney to her gilded cage.<\/p>\n<p>Driving while intoxicated, as police accuse Britney of doing, is not okay. It endangers people. It is a mistake.<\/p>\n<p>But the penalty for a DUI is usually, like, a <em>fine<\/em>. A suspended license. That sort of thing.
