Wilmer Valderrama was 30. The two began dating, only breaking up in 2016.<\/p>\n<p>Demi has spoken about the highs and lows of this erstwhile relationship before \u2014 alleging violations of consent but also describing the romance as \u201clove at first sight.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>We do have to emphasize that Valderrama\u2019s name doesn\u2019t come up during the chat. At least, not usually.<\/p>\n<p>The unique combination of a financially successful career and unusual adolescent independence <em>did <\/em>feed into this situation, as it would for even non-famous teens.<\/p>\n<p>But, as Keke suggested during the interview, both former child stares \u201cwere trying to find outlets and just a way to process\u201d their fairly unique lives.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNobody our age could understand,\u201d Demi agreed. \u201cBut then you look back in hindsight, when I turned 30 I was like, \u2018That\u2019s not OK.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGirl, the moment that you realize and you get to the age that a lot of people that were around you and doing stuff,\u201d Keke remarked.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<p>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Demi Lovato on Healing, Marriage, &amp; In most cases, these are stories of men who exploited them as teens.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re glad that Demi and Keke are both in much better places today.
