Hilary Duff<\/strong><\/a> is opening up about her new music and making peace with her first major role.<\/p>\n The 38-year-old \u201cFuture Tripping\u201d singer and actress made an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show<\/em>, which aired on Tuesday (March 3), where she dished on an array of topics, from motherhood, returning to the stage and making new music again. <\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI think it took me like a good 10 years to make peace with like Lizzie McGuire<\/em>. You know, it was, it\u2019s weird to like play a character that people fall so in love with that doesn\u2019t grow up,\u201d Hilary<\/strong> told host Drew Barrymore<\/strong><\/a>. \u201cShe stays that age and then I grew up. You know what I mean? And so now I\u2019m like obsessed with her and I like get to join the fandom and be excited like everybody else, even though I like was her, but for a while it was a hard thing to be like changing and evolving and, but everywhere I went, like I was this to people.\u201d <\/p>\n Drew<\/strong> then asked if she made a conscious decision to separate herself from Lizzie.<\/p>\n \u201cI think that was why I became, I wanted to be a pop star. You know, the second I, I finished filming Lizzie<\/em>, I was like cool, I don\u2019t wanna be called that anymore, and I\u2019m gonna be, I\u2019m gonna make music, and I\u2019m gonna get a record deal, and I\u2019m gonna be a pop star,\u201d Hilary<\/strong> said. \u201c[And] I did.\u201d<\/p>\n The \u201cWeather for Tennis<\/a>\u201d singer also got emotional while talking about working on her new album luck\u2026 or something <\/em>with husband Matthew Koma<\/strong><\/a>, who co-wrote and produced the new LP.<\/p>\n \n
