Christina Applegate<\/strong><\/a> revealed she got an abortion at age 19 in her debut memoir, You With the Sad Eyes<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn late April 1991, I fell pregnant. I want to turn away from what happened, but it\u2019s all recorded in my diary,\u201d Applegate, 54, wrote in the book published on Tuesday, March 3. \u201cThere are moments in my life that are too painful to force into narrative or meaning, so I\u2019ll let my voice from back then speak.\u201d<\/p>\n

Throughout the memoir, Applegate included entries from the diaries she\u2019s kept throughout her life. In 1991, she wrote that \u201ctoo many emotions are filling my soul\u201d regarding the pregnancy.<\/p>\n

\u201cI always felt that if I ever got pregnant when I knew it was the wrong time, I wouldn\u2019t have any problem having an abortion,\u201d she wrote, noting that the fetus was \u201cincredible\u201d and made her feel \u201csafe.\u201d<\/p>\n

Applegate was in an abusive relationship with her boyfriend at the time. He is not named in the tell-all.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t really understand my relationship anymore. It isn\u2019t good,\u201d her diary entry read. \u201cSometimes I don\u2019t think it\u2019s worth it.\u201d<\/p>\n

One day after discovering her pregnancy, Applegate recalled things taking \u201ca brutal turn.\u201d She decided to get an abortion.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m f***ing pregnant and I\u2019m killing my child on Thursday. I\u2019m thinking where the f*** can I go to recuperate from murder,\u201d she wrote. Applegate claimed her boyfriend\u2019s family would \u201chate\u201d her when they found out. The actress explained that it wasn\u2019t the right time for her to become a mother.<\/p>\n

A separate diary entry detailed the aftermath of her procedure<\/a>, which took place on June 13, 1991.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel pretty OK. Just kind of woozy. That gives me no time to realize what I have done,\u201d she wrote. \u201cWhich is most likely the best right now.\u201d<\/p>\n

Throughout the memoir, Applegate chronicled the ups and downs she experienced with her abusive boyfriend<\/a>. Applegate was honest when she came to discussing how she often went back \u2014 even though she knew it was a bad situation.<\/p>\n

One Christmas, Applegate brought her now-ex to her grandmother\u2019s home in Indiana. When things apparently got physical, her mom, Nancy Priddy<\/strong>, put a stop to it. Applegate recalled calling him an \u201ca**hole\u201d before he allegedly pulled her out of the bathroom.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe comes barging in, grabs me around the neck, and drags me by my legs across the hallway, back to the bedroom, where the lights are still out,\u201d she wrote. \u201cThere he pins me to the bed, my pants still around my ankles. He\u2019s livid, lost to his anger, shaking with rage, fuming and foaming as though his life is on the line.\u201d<\/p>\n

Her family members were \u201chorrified\u201d and called the police. Applegate did not press charges, and her boyfriend was taken to a motel. She went with him, much to the dismay of her mother. Things allegedly escalated once again.<\/p>\n

\u201cI hear him punch the mirror, hear the shattering glass. I watch as he brings out a shard,\u201d Applegate recalled. \u201cI feel something cold on my neck.\u201d<\/p>\n

Less than one year later, Applegate and LeNoble welcomed their daughter, Sadie Grace, in January 2011. Us Weekly confirmed in February 2013 that the pair tied the knot [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Applegate wrote that she was \u201ccalm\u201d during the entire situation. The boyfriend allegedly made her undress and \u201cget on top of him.\u201d Instead of doing anything, he let her leave.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe seemed to take pleasure in making me truly believe he was going to kill me,\u201d Applegate speculated in the book. \u201cMy all-consuming fear appeared to satisfy him.\u201d<\/p>\n

While they stayed together, there was one final incident that led to the end of their relationship. During a fight, he poured an \u201centire bottle of tequila\u201d down her throat. Before she got \u201csevere alcohol poisoning,\u201d Applegate called the bodyguard she had recently hired.<\/p>\n
