David Archuleta<\/strong><\/a> has formed sweet friendships with Real Housewives of Salt Lake City<\/em><\/strong><\/a>\u2018s Heather Gay<\/strong><\/a> and Secret Lives of Mormon Wives<\/strong><\/a><\/em> star Jessi Ngatikaura<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n All three celebs have former ties to the Church of Latter-Day Saints, which is what cemented their bond.<\/p>\n David<\/strong> said he met Jessi<\/strong> recently, telling Us Weekly<\/a><\/em> he appreciates how \u201cvulnerable, open and messy\u201d she\u2019s been \u201cin front of everybody.\u201d<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n He had her host one of his book tour nights in Salt Lake City. His latest book is a new memoir titled Devout<\/em>.<\/p>\n \u201cThat was really cool,\u201d David<\/strong> shared.<\/p>\n He continued, \u201cWe gained this special connection with each other, having both been raised Mormon and leaving our religion and trying to bring awareness to things that usually people just try to sweep under the rug or try to pretend are not there in our religion, in our culture and in our families.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI feel like we\u2019re having really productive, important conversations, especially for our Utah families,\u201d the \u201cCrush\u201d singer added.<\/p>\n With Heather<\/strong>, David<\/strong> said, \u201cHeather Gay<\/strong> and I have become friends, just because, as I came out. I didn\u2019t watch Housewives<\/em>, but she kept saying, \u2018I\u2019m so happy for you.\u2019 She would comment on, like, every post that I had, and I was like, \u2018Let\u2019s invite her to a show.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n She accepted his invite and went to one of his concerts, later gifting him copies of her two memoirs and he later sent her a book, too.<\/p>\n \u201cShe\u2019s just been so supportive the whole time. It\u2019s just great to find people who are in front of everyone and get what it\u2019s like to be watched, and have everyone involved in your business. It\u2019s been fun,\u201d the former American Idol<\/strong><\/a><\/em> finalist gushed, also adding that they\u2019ve become texting buddies and they\u2019re \u201cconstantly cheering each other on.\u201d<\/p>\n David<\/strong> has been very raw and candid in his new memoir, opening up about choosing to be homeless during the height of his American Idol fame.
