The Blue Bloods<\/em> cast are booked and busy lining up new projects after the hit CBS series came to a surprising end.<\/p>\n

Blue Bloods<\/em>, which premiered in 2010, followed the lives of the<\/a> Reagan family, many of whom worked for the NYPD under the leadership of NYC police commissioner Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck<\/strong>). Frank\u2019s father, Henry Reagan (Len Cariou<\/strong>), have been central to the show alongside Frank\u2019s children: daughter Erin Reagan (Bridget Moynahan<\/strong>) and sons Danny (Donnie Wahlberg<\/strong>) and Jamie Reagan (Will Estes<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

After news broke about Blue Bloods<\/em> coming to an end, Selleck explained why he thought the show should have remained on the air.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m kind of frustrated,\u201d he told TV Insider<\/em> in October 2024. \u201cDuring those last eight shows, I haven\u2019t wanted to talk about an ending for Blue Bloods but about it still being wildly successful.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued: \u201cI\u2019m not going to turn into a bitter old guy saying, \u2018Get off my lawn.\u2019 I don\u2019t believe in holding grudges, but if you were to say to the television network, \u2018Here\u2019s a show you can program in the worst time slot you got, and it is going to guarantee you winning Friday night for the next 15 years,\u2019 it would be almost impossible to believe.\u201d<\/p>\n

Selleck admitted that his \u201cfrustration\u201d came from the show always<\/a> being \u201ctaken for granted because it performed from the get-go.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, how do I feel?\u201d he added. \u201cIt\u2019s going to take a long time to sort all of this out. I remember after the weekend [of the final episode\u2019s shoot], I said, \u2018I\u2019ve got to get to bed early tonight because I have to do my dialogue for Monday.\u2019 Well, there was no Monday. It\u2019s just going to take a while.\u201d<\/p>\n

Two months after Blue Bloods\u2019 series finale in December 2024, CBS announced that the Boston Blue<\/em> spinoff<\/a> was ordered straight to series and would expand the police procedural as Donnie Wahlberg<\/strong>\u2018s character \u201ctakes on a position\u201d with the Boston P.D.<\/p>\n

The Blue Bloods<\/em> cast has unanimously shown their support for making appearances as their respective characters but some have already looked into new opportunities as well. In addition to reprising his role as Danny in the Boston Blue<\/em> spinoff, Wahlberg went from hosting Investigation Discovery\u2019s Very Scary People<\/em> for six seasons solo to working with wife Jenny McCarthy<\/strong><\/a> on Very Scary Lovers<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Before Blue Bloods<\/em>, Wahlberg\u2019s most memorable roles included Band of Brothers<\/em> and several Saw<\/em> movies.<\/p>\n

After wrapping up her run as Erin on Blue Bloods<\/em>, Moynahan was honored with the<\/a> JFK National Award and cast on Original Sound<\/em>. She previously had scene-stealing roles in I, Robot, Coyote Ugly<\/em> and on Sex and the City<\/em>. She is reprising her role in Boston Blue \u2014 and will direct an episode as well. She also booked a role in Dan Fogelman\u2019s upcoming football drama.<\/p>\n
