Apparently so. We don\u2019t see it.<span class=\"image-caption-credit\"> (Image Credit: YouTube)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-is-this-why-he-didn-t-make-good-on-his-promise\">Is this why he didn\u2019t make good on his promise?<\/h2>\n<p>At the 2026 Grammy Awards, many award winners used their platforms to speak out against ICE\u2019s ongoing campaign of terror in Minnesota and beyond.<\/p>\n<p>DeFord essentially asked for a rain check, vowing to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehollywoodgossip.com\/2026\/02\/jelly-roll-politics-ice-stance-grammys\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">address ICE violence<\/a> later that week.<\/p>\n<p>He did not. It was odd to delay a statement already, whether or not he portrayed himself as too \u201cdumb\u201d to make a statement on the spot. It\u2019s even <em>weirder <\/em>to skip the self-imposed deadline.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s possible that he simply asked for a delay because he was out of his mind with pain and didn\u2019t feel up to saying anything coherent. (Many of us have been there, albeit with much smaller platforms.)<\/p>\n<p>Still, it would be good (or possibly <em>very bad<\/em>) if he were to speak out now.
