FALLON \/ AFP via Getty Images)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>And he was on hand at LA\u2019s Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall, this time with his mom by his side instead of longtime girlfriend Kylie Jenner, who\u2019s been his date for most award season events.<\/p>\n<p>But as was the case at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehollywoodgossip.com\/2026\/01\/golden-globes-2026-winners-who-took-home-the-nights-top-prizes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Golden Globes<\/a>, Chalamet once again went home empty-handed, the night\u2019s top male acting prize going to Michael B. Jordan for his work in <em>Sinners<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m so honored and privileged to be nominated in categories with people and actors and humans that I love,\u201d Jordan said in his acceptance speech (via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/entertainment\/movies\/articles\/michael-b-jordan-beats-leonardo-115342939.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Yahoo! News<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis ride has been unbelievable. So thank you for welcoming me in and making me feel seen. And y\u2019all know how I feel about y\u2019all.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t know what exactly is happening in Best Actor now, other than Chalamet is not winning anymore,\u201d<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/mog1717\/status\/2028324357953433768\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> wrote one user<\/a> on X (formerly Twitter).<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><noscript><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"760\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.thehollywoodgossip.com\/uploads\/2026\/03\/GettyImages-2264351051-760x1024.jpg\" alt=\"Michael B. FALLON \/ AFP via Getty Images)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>After all, members of the Academy and other voting bodies want to believe \u2014 correctly or otherwise \u2014 that they\u2019re voting based on the quality of the performance, not the campaign.<\/p>\n<p>Awarding Chalamet for the most public campaign in recent memory might undermine that belief.<\/p>\n<p>And then there\u2019s the movie itself. <em>Marty Supreme<\/em> garnered positive reviews, and many critics noted the strength of Timmy\u2019s performance.<\/p>\n<p>But he plays a deeply unlikable character in a movie about the power of tireless ambition. <\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s not exactly a feel-good flick, and for some voters, Chalamet\u2019s quest for Oscar gold might be an unpleasant reminder of Marty Mauser\u2019s conniving quest for a ping pong championship.<\/p>\n<p>And then there\u2019s the fact that <em>Sinners<\/em> has been an absolute juggernaut, with Jordan leading the way.<\/p>\n<p>The film scored more Academy Award nominations than any movie in history, and it\u2019s poised to win big on Oscar night.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ll have to wait until March 15 to see what happens \u2014 but it seems less and less likely that it\u2019ll be Timmy\u2019s big night.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehollywoodgossip.com\/2026\/03\/timothee-chalamets-oscar-hopes-fade-with-snub-at-actor-awards\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Source link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Reading Time: 3 minutes There was a time \u2014 not all that long ago \u2014 when Timothee Chalamet seemed like a lock to win Best Actor at the 2026 Academy Awards.
