Gavin Casalegno<\/strong> doesn\u2019t know anything about what will happen<\/a> in The Summer I Turned Pretty<\/em><\/a> movie \u2014 but he does have a surprising request for his character Jeremiah.<\/p>\n

\u201cI did request a death scene,\u201d Casalegno, 26, joked during an exclusive interview with Us Weekly<\/em> at Actors Rising Presented by The Actor Awards and ELLE on Thursday, February 26. \u201cI don\u2019t know if we\u2019re gonna get it.\u201d<\/p>\n

On a more serious note, Casalegno showed support for any<\/a> story line that \u201cmakes the fans and Yana Grebenyuk Jenny [Han] happy.\u201d He also clarified that he has \u201cno information\u201d in an effort to keep spoilers from leaking.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m like Tom Holland. If I know anything, I\u2019ll give it away,\u201d he quipped in reference to Holland previously<\/a> spoiling details from various Marvel movies. \u201cThey won\u2019t tell me anything.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pulling inspiration from Jenny Han<\/strong>\u2018s novels<\/a> The Summer I Turned Pretty<\/em>, It\u2019s Not Summer Without You<\/em> and We\u2019ll Always Have Summer<\/em>, Prime Video\u2019s hit series followed the love triangle between Belly (Lola Tung<\/strong>), Conrad (Chris Briney<\/strong>) and Jeremiah.<\/p>\n

The finale, which aired in September 2025, appeared to be the end of the franchise \u2014 until Prime Video announced that they greenlit a feature film that will conclude The Summer I Turned Pretty story.<\/p>\n

According to Han, there \u201cis another big milestone left in Belly\u2019s journey<\/a>\u201d that has yet to be told. \u201cI thought only a movie could give it its proper due,\u201d Han said in a September 2025 statement. \u201cI\u2019m so grateful to Prime Video for continuing to support my vision for this story and for making it possible to share this final chapter with the fans.\u201d<\/p>\n

Casalegno previously weighed in on what he would like to see explored.<\/p>\n

\u201cI hope he continues cooking. I hope he continues pursuing his own passions \u2014 but I really don\u2019t know,\u201d he shared with Us in November 2025. \u201cI even called Jenny the other week and was like, \u2018So what can you give me?\u2019 She didn\u2019t give me anything.\u201d<\/p>\n

At the time, Casalegno weighed in on why Denise<\/a> (Isabella Briggs<\/strong>) could be a better fit for Jeremiah than Belly, saying, \u201cI think Denise does see Jeremiah in a different light. Belly growing up with Jeremiah, there\u2019s like a little bit of familiarity that might have stunted things.\u201d<\/p>\n
