Suzanne Shaw broke down in tears as she revealed her \u2018messy and unexpected\u2019 split from fianc\u00e9 Sam Greenfield<\/p>\n
\nTelling her followers she is now entering \u201cthe era of having the greatest love affair with myself\u201d, the 44-year-old former Hear\u2019Say singer shared the news of the break-up in an emotional Instagram video on Friday (27.02.26), confirming she and Sam Greenfield separated in January. <\/p>\n
\nSuzanne, who became engaged to Sam in 2014 and welcomed their son Rafferty, 10, in 2015, added she had stepped back from social media while navigating the breakup. <\/p>\n
\nThe singer \u2013 also mother to Corey, 21, who she shares with former partner Darren Day \u2013\u00a0said about how her separation was part of a broader journey of personal development, six years after giving up alcohol: \u201cI\u2019ve not been online for a little while because I\u2019ve just been navigating some stuff in my life which is a breakup that I\u2019m going through at the moment when I genuinely did not expect I\u2019d be saying this out loud.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nSuzanne added: \u201cIt\u2019s been tough, it\u2019s been really tough and I wasn\u2019t actually even going to say anything online but I just thought like the nature of my account is all about mental health, my struggles with my mental health, quitting alcohol, changing my lifestyle, taking up running, all of the things that have just brought my stability.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cAnd now things have just taken a different road, taken a different path. It\u2019s been tricky but my goodness thank god I have got the tools to navigate this.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cAnd thank god it\u2019s been six years of not drinking, six years of really dedicating my life to my personal development.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI\u2019ve not been perfect through this and it\u2019s been a little bit messy but I\u2019ve certainly been able to tap into therapy, I\u2019ve been able to tap into meditation, a little bit of running, understanding that I need to eat well.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cAnd understanding that I need to just lean into this pain and heal and it is a new chapter of deep healing because for me, I am going into the era of having the greatest love affair with myself.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cIt was important for me to share this, it was important for me to close one chapter to move into the next.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI\u2019ve not known what to say since the start of January but here I am, nearly in March now ready to just go this journey of total true self healing and giving myself the highest quality of love that I should have done a long time ago.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nIn her caption accompanying the video, Suzanne asked fans to \u201crespect\u201d that she would not be sharing further details about her split.<\/p>\n
\nSuzanne was previously engaged to Darren Day, a former Celebrity Big Brother contestant. <\/p>\n
\nHe left Suzanne and their seven-week-old son Corey on Mother\u2019s Day in 2005 while she was experiencing postnatal depression. <\/p>\n
\nSpeaking last year on Vanessa Feltz\u2019s Channel 5 show, Suzanne said Darren \u201cpretty much went out to get a curry and didn\u2019t come back\u201d and added the fact she developed postnatal depression was \u201cno surprise\u201d.<\/p>\n
\nDarren later married Stephanie Dooley and divorced her in 2019. <\/p>\n
\nTwo years before her engagement to Sam, Suzanne was married to Heart FM presenter Jason King, to whom she got hitched in 2009 before the couple separated in 2012.<\/p>\n
