While Chris Noth<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s Mr. Big was killed off<\/a>\u00a0And Just Like That\u00a0<\/i>season 1, the remaining characters are still processing his loss in season 2.<\/p>\n \u201c[Big\u2019s death] is in a way [a story line] you wouldn\u2019t expect \u2026 but it comes out in ways that you wouldn\u2019t expect it to be,\u201d Sarita Choudhury<\/strong><\/a>, who portrays Seema Patel on\u00a0AJLT<\/i><\/a>, exclusively told\u00a0Us Weekly\u00a0<\/i>on Tuesday, June 13. \u201cIt\u2019s gonna affect [Sarah Jessica Parker<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s Carrie Bradshaw] in [one] scene \u2018cause she\u2019s really ready for life again. So you think she\u2019s all fine, but there were one or two moments that moved me [because] I was like, \u2018Oh, I didn\u2019t think she\u2019d be vulnerable there, you know?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n And Just Like That\u00a0<\/i>\u2014 a modern-day revival of\u00a0Sex and the City<\/a> \u2014\u00a0<\/i>premiered in December 2021, as Carrie, Miranda (Cynthia Nixon<\/strong><\/a>) and Charlotte (Kristin Davis<\/strong><\/a>) navigated their friendships and relationships in their 50s. Carrie, for her part, grieved the loss of her husband, Mr. Big, after his tragic death via a grueling Peloton workout<\/a>. (Noth\u2019s exit came on the heels of the 68-year-old actor\u2019s sexual misconduct scandal<\/a>, which he has denied.)<\/p>\n Choudhury, 56, further noted to\u00a0Us\u00a0<\/i>that the loss of Big was the most heartbreaking scene<\/a> from the debut season.\u00a0\u201cI mean, probably the death last season, like, if that hadn\u2019t happened, there\u2019s probably so many [scenes] that I can go to, but I just never seen that expression in her,\u201d she said\u00a0<\/i>on Tuesday.<\/p>\n By the end of\u00a0AJLT\u00a0<\/i>season 1, Carrie traveled to Paris \u2014 where she and Big initially rekindled their on-off romance at the end of the HBO drama \u2014 to scatter his ashes. She is expected to move on in season 2<\/a> with her former flame Aidan Shaw (John Corbett<\/strong><\/a>). The twosome were spotted packing on the PDA in photographs from set and in the teaser trailer<\/a>.<\/p>\n While Choudhury confesses that Team Aidan fans will be \u201ccompletely\u201d satisfied<\/a> by Corbett\u2019s return and rekindled romance with Carrie, it is not a matter of simply picking up where they left off.<\/p>\n \u201cYou have to remember, Aidan and Carrie are different people, a little bit, now,\u201d the\u00a0Evil Eye\u00a0<\/i>actress explained. \u201cSo it\u2019s also, you\u2019re gonna get to know them together, who they are now. The question [of if fans will be satisfied] almost doesn\u2019t work because they\u2019re different people. So that\u2019s what\u2019s gonna be interesting for you, is who are they now? And, do you like them now?\u201d<\/p>\n And Just Like That\u00a0<\/i>\u2014 which returns to MAX later this month \u2014 will also see other love stories blossom this season. Choudhury even told\u00a0Us\u00a0<\/i>that she hopes Seema will find The One in upcoming episodes.<\/p>\n \u201cI do but then when you [asked about her relationship goals], I was like, \u2018Oh, but then that would mean I couldn\u2019t have so much fun,\u2019\u201d Choudhury confessed.<\/i>\u00a0\u201cUltimately, I do because I\u2019d love to see who she is [when her] heart [is completely] relaxed.\u201d<\/p>\n Choudhury\u2019s Seema was one of the new characters introduced in\u00a0And Just Like That<\/i>, quickly bonding with Carrie over a mutual interest in fashion and navigating the dating scene in New York City at their age<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201c[Fans are] not only seeing them sexually active but that mistakes happen to them and how do they deal with it? I think that\u2019s what\u2019s gonna get people to be like, \u2018Why am I hiding at home watching Netflix? I gotta go out,\u2019\u201d she added on Tuesday. \u201cLike, I can deal with embarrassment, I can deal with rejection because when we were in our 20s, we got rejected all the time, you know, so why can\u2019t we get rejected in our fifties? Go for it.\u201d<\/p>\n And Just Like That\u00a0<\/i>season 2 premieres on MAX Thursday, June 22.<\/p>\n
