Changes are coming to Temptation Island<\/em><\/a> \u2014 and host Mark L. Walberg<\/strong> teased how those twists will stir up drama on season 5 of the reality dating series.<\/p>\n \u201cWe have four couples who are really, fully expressed and really rolling up their sleeves and getting into it,\u201d Walberg, 60, exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em> on Tuesday, June 13. \u201cThere are some twists and turns in the format that spice things up \u2014 things that I didn\u2019t realize would pay off the way that they did.\u201d<\/p>\n Another group of couples will head to Hawaii on the show\u2019s fifth season \u2014 which premieres on Wednesday, June 14 \u2014 to figure out whether their relationships can withstand the temptation<\/a> of the show\u2019s attractive single contestants. Season 5 will see the introduction of the Temptation Light, which will illuminate every time a contestant gives into temptation.<\/p>\n \u201cIt doesn\u2019t really tell you anything, who\u2019s doing what or what they\u2019re doing,\u201d Walberg told Us<\/em>. \u201cBut what goes on in their minds makes things a little crazy.\u201d<\/p>\n The former Antiques Roadshow<\/em> host \u2014 who shares two kids with his wife, Robbi Morgan<\/strong> \u2014 admitted that he was unsure of the format changes at first, but changed his mind once he saw them put into action. \u201cThat Temptation Light popping on reminds them while they\u2019re at their villa that there\u2019s something else going on to be constantly aware of and that staying off your center actually can inform you,\u201d he shared. \u201cIt can give you answers, actual legitimate, authentic answers.\u201d<\/p>\n The Light, in particular, changes the mood \u201cevery time\u201d it goes off, Walberg explained. \u201cI think a couple of the people are like, laying on the couch to watch if the lights going on or off all night long,\u201d the game show host teased. \u201cAnd then, at some point, it\u2019s like, \u2018If their light\u2019s on, let\u2019s get our light on,\u2019 kind of vibe. It\u2019s really interesting.\u201d<\/p>\n The singles will also play a bigger part this season as they will have the ability to send their desired partners<\/a> letters \u2014 something only couples could do in the past. \u201cWe\u2019re also empowering the singles a little bit more this season,\u201d the South Carolina native revealed. \u201cIn [the] past, it\u2019s been about the four couples and the singles are sort of there for them, but we didn\u2019t really get into their story as deeply as we are this season. So, we get to give them a chance to actually be part of this process a little bit.\u201d<\/p>\n While some of the single contestants will continue to be as \u201cseductive\u201d as ever, most of the new additions are there for genuine reasons. \u201cI think anybody who\u2019s on the show \u2014 I mean, the ultimate goal is to find a real love<\/a>, something real,\u201d he told Us<\/em>. \u201cAnd even the biggest players \u2014 when you really get beneath the surface \u2014 are vulnerable and unsure and want the same things.\u201d<\/p>\n Despite the show\u2019s new changes, one thing will remain the same: sexy bachelors and bachelorettes. \u201cThese guys have it together, they\u2019re gorgeous,\u201d Walberg joked, adding that the number of abs in season 5 is \u201cdaunting.\u201d<\/p>\n He continued: \u201cThey\u2019re players. They [have], you know, \u2018Nothing\u2019s gonna get to me\u2019 kind of vibe. Well, when you talk to them, that\u2019s not the truth at all. We\u2019re all a scared kid inside to some degree.\u201d<\/p>\n Season 5 of Temptation Island<\/em> premieres Wednesday, June 14, on USA Network at 9 p.m. ET.
