The Jumanji actor, 56, posted a series of images on Instagram on Sunday, 22 February, to celebrate the anniversary with Tanya, 54, after they got hitched following encouragement from his brother.<\/p>\n
The couple married in 2006 in a private ceremony in Big Sur after a short courtship, though they had known one another since their teenage years. <\/p>\n
In his anniversary post, Jack included a photograph of Tanya gazing into his eye and an image of the pair meditating with their sons as toddlers \u2013 Samuel \u201cSammy\u201d Jason Black, now 19, and Thomas \u201cTommy\u201d David Black, 17 \u2013 as well as clips of Tanya on a swing and dancing. <\/p>\n
He captioned the post: \u201c20 years! Happy anniversary my love. @tanyahaden.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nAmong the comments, Jack\u2019s \u201cKing Kong\u201d co-star Naomi Watts responded with heart and clapping emojis, while Josh Brolin added a string of red heart emojis. <\/p>\n
\nJack\u2019s tribute also featured photographs of Tanya playing the drums and posing with their sons as babies.<\/p>\n
\nReflecting on their early years, Jack previously told Parade in 2015 he was \u201cpretty shy\u201d when he and Tanya first met at Crossroads, a private high school in Santa Monica. <\/p>\n
\nHe said: \u201cI didn\u2019t date Tanya or talk to her or anything in high school. I was pretty shy. I just watched her from afar.\u201d <\/p>\n
\nIt was not until years later, at a surprise birthday party for a mutual friend, that they reconnected.<\/p>\n
\nRecalling the meeting during an appearance on the Armchair Expert podcast in August 2024, Jack said: \u201cShe came up to me and said, \u2018Hey, do you ever wanna go get dinner? I should give you my number.\u2019 \u201d <\/p>\n
\nHe added: \u201cAnd I was like, \u2018Oh my God\u2019. Heaven opened up above my head, because it was like, this is the thing that I would always want to happen.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nJack said in the same interview even though he and Tanya agreed on having children, marriage had not initially felt necessary. <\/p>\n
\nHe said: \u201cWe didn\u2019t get married because it was like, (we) don\u2019t really believe in the contract and that whole thing. Why is it necessary?\u201d <\/p>\n
\nJack added: \u201cAnd then as soon as she had a baby in her belly, my brother was like, \u2018What the hell are you \u2013 you marry her!\u2019<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI was like, \u2018You\u2019re right, dude\u2019. I got on bended knee and she laughed and said yes.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nJack and Tanya welcomed Samuel in June 2006, months after their wedding, and Thomas two years later.<\/p>\n
