\u201cWe are old now,\u201d Myha\u2019la<\/strong><\/a> says with a smile to her Industry<\/em> costar Marisa Abela<\/strong><\/a> on Zoom. Considering the fact that both actors are 29 years old, that sentiment is far from true. However, four seasons into the buzzy British banking drama<\/a>, it does feel like we\u2019re a long way from the early days of Industry<\/em><\/a> when their respective characters, Harper Stern and Yasmin Kara-Hanani, were first-years on the trading floor at Pierpoint & Co, diving headfirst into the wild world of finance.<\/p>\n In the penultimate episode of Industry<\/em>\u2019s fourth season, \u201cPoints of Emphasis,\u201d Harper and Yas run through the gamut of human emotions. They begin the episode as business adversaries, hurling insults at one another, and end the episode as friends dancing till dawn in a perfect girl\u2019s night out, sealed with a kiss\u2014a fact that makes both actors giggle, recalling the shoot. For Abela, the club scene was both sentimental and nostalgic. \u201cIt felt like season one of Industry<\/em> in that we\u2019re just two girls dancing in a club,\u201d she says. \u201cIt felt like that time in Berlin in season two, or all the season one stuff with Robert. It really felt like, \u2018Oh yeah, this is the show that we set out to make.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n But before they can get to that point, the frenemies have to hash it out. \u201cI really resented you for being a breathing example of how I was less than,\u201d Harper says to Yasmin, over drinks at a pub. \u201cAnd I choose to love you for being a breathing example for how I can be more,\u201d Yasmin responds. That conversation was \u201cthe most honest and vulnerable conversation that they ever have\u201d in Myha\u2019la\u2019s opinion. \u201cThey both ask for each other\u2019s comfort in a way that there\u2019s no hidden agenda, there\u2019s no nothing,\u201d she continues. \u201cIt\u2019s pure, platonic need for comforting each other.\u201d<\/p>\n Many important characters have come and gone from the Industry<\/em> universe\u2014Gus (David Jonsson<\/strong>), Robert (Harry Lawtey<\/strong>), and most recently Harper\u2019s mentor Eric Tao, played by Ken Leung<\/strong><\/a>.<\/strong> But throughout all the shifts and changes, Harper and Yasmin\u2019s friendship\u2014flawed though it may be\u2014has served as the anchor of the buzzy HBO series. What was it like filming that moment?<\/strong><\/p>\n Myha\u2019la:<\/em> It was so special. As much as we know the audience wants our girlies together and to have their dancing at the club moment, we really wanted it too. It does feel like an accumulation of all the seasons, everything they\u2019ve gone through together. It\u2019s the most intimate they could possibly be\u2014that they\u2019ve ever been. It was also really fun. It was a very fun shoot day.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
